Title: Foss Gly Question
Description: Didn't he die?

golferreino2002 - May 18, 2004 02:37 PM (GMT)
I read Night Probe and in it Foss Gly supposedly dies. But in Cyclops which comes later in Dirk Pitts life he is the interrogator in the Cuban Island place. Anyone care to explain for me how Foss Gly survived when his plane went well above where he could breath and didn't try to fix it and his plane later crashed into the Sea? This is confusing me. c:

I wondered the same thing, however did we *see* the plane crash? Maybe he figured it out before it was too late ;)

that's just one of the question cussler did not answer it appears.

How 'bout that? I never realized that. I guess that because I just don't think of DP books as a series, because each book doesn't rely heavily on other books, and you could read one without having to read the others.

I agree that you can read them without all the rest. I read TO and I was tired of reading the same describition of the characters that I already knew so well, but you have to give the first readers a chance.

In Night Probe, there was no evidence that the plane ever crashed - it was set to autopilot and the plane disappeared.

There was no indication that Foss Gly actually died. As a matter of fact, he was very resourceful throughout the entire book and maybe he caught the assassination attempt in time.

Course though you deserved it. You weren't to kind to Pitt in the torture chamber and plus you were working with the communist. We all know where that leads. A shortage in butter.

Big Ego. See I can do it. LOL

Foss Gly - May 21, 2004 01:54 AM (GMT)
Gly could have been the perfect recurring villian in the series had Cussler decided to do so. He was charismatic, intellegent, and above all, extremely clever.
Oh, and really, really, really evil.
