Would anyone else here really love Cussler to write some prequels to the recent books, some more set back in the days before Dirk Jr. and Summer?

I really cannot get used to them, and I think it was way better before in the time of 'Sahara' and 'Shock Wave'. What do you think?

I would definitely agree but I don't think it will ever happen. The books and style have really changed a bit, and writing a book set before Jr. and Summer arrived would be like Cussler admitting that the characters didn't work. It's been mentioned before and I love the "good ol' books" so hopefully it will actually happen.

Hopefully if we can give Dirk Cussler a chance to develop as a writer then perhaps Jr. and Summer's characters will develop along with him.
