Title: Flood Tide Question...
Description: Dave, don't laugh!

So I picked up a used hardcover Floodtide last night for $0.84 and noticed today that it is smaller than my other one by roughly an inch at the top (length) and a half inch in width. Thickness is about the same. On the title page, it mentions nothing about a reprinting or being a Book Club Edition. The ISBNs are the same, but those numbers that I still don't understand aren't there, while they are 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2 on the bigger one. The bigger one also lists Simon & Schuster's address as well as "Library of Congress Catologing-in-Publication Data," whereas the smaller one does not. The only difference in Dust Jackets is on the back flap the bigger one says "This title also available from Simon & Schuster Audio" and "Visit us on the World Wide Web http://www.SimonSays.com/cussler."

Oh yeah, the bigger one's board is red with black at the binding, while the smaller one is all black.

I don't have a digital camera so I can't post pics...

Anyone have a clue what the difference is, or did I just end up with a copy from the land of the little people?

The copy you described is the book club edition.

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks, Dave! How come they don't identify it as such, or give a different ISBN or anything?

I thought all book club editions had "BCA" on the dust jacket and the base of the spine?

Mal.

BCA is used in the UK, not on the US books.

You must have gotten the illegal chinese reprint I made before Pitt© and Giordino killed me in my Submarine.

I hope it wasn't super-extra valuable because I gave it to my old roommate to hopefully get him interested in Cussler books. b:
