Title: Al's Arsenal?

Infernorhythm - January 28, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
Ok, in nearly every DP adventure, Dirk is the only one to ever pack a gun with him. Ok, in Trojan Oddyssey Al had the Desert Eagle, but out of the six DP books I've read, Al usually is weaponless. Does he have a favored gun like Dirk's Colt? Does he ever pack it?

If my knowledge serves me correctly (and now that I'm 25 and getting on in years it might not be :P ), I can't think of Al as having a signature weapon. He generally has a weapon, but it's not like his "trusty ol' _____."

Am I thinking of someone else when I think of him with a shotgun? Possibly Joe Zavala?

Is there a reason Al never carries a gun with him?

Al packed a Ruger P94 automatic in Valhalla Rising too. Actually, I never gave it much thought as to why Al does not usually carry a gun. I guess the muscle bound Italian is a weapon in his own right! ;)

I just checked back through some books. Al does not carry and signiture weapon. He uses what ever is available. Half the time he does not need a gun. As was said before, he is his own weapon. :ph43r:

Heck, he blew half of Delphi's face clear off with just his pinky finger.

Well to the next nine DP villains...keep guns away from Al's remaining fingers!

Hmm, I just found Al not packing a gun odd. I mean, I understand he's tougher then anyone, but in ToK, Dirk gets a gun when they're going to break into the place. What's he expect Al to do, make a pretend gun with his fingers?

Sure, if he pokes it out through the pocket of his coat everyone will THINK he has a gun and will drop theirs.

Note: I haven't read TOK yet so I don't know if he even had a coat.

You know that worked for John Ritter's character in the movie "Real Men". There is a scene where he has to provide "cover fire" for Jim Belushi's character and he doesn't have a gun. So he makes the hand gun and starts firing away. It works but I can't remember why it did.

Great movie and reading your post made me think of it. Came out in 1987.

Sorry to re-opn old threads,

But i'm sure i have read Giordino using a "Bushmaster" something or anther a few times indifferent books. However i think he might e stealing these off of the various Vilain type Goons they come across.. so maybe the Bushmaster is a hot gun for Goons?.. lol

Can anyone else back this theory up for me? or shall i stand in my corner on my own? lol

The Bushmaster Rifle is well known in certain circles of the rifle and gun aficionados. Personally, I prefer Guns, especially the Walther PPK and Berettas. I only recall once shooting an firearm when I was a kid living in New Mexico back in the early 1970s when one of my mother's boyfriends allowed me to shoot at bottles with a rifle. w:
