Ok, I passed on Black Wind, but just read Treasure of Khan. I know people despise BW, but lets ignore that for a second. I know Dirk is now Special Projects Director, but what is Summer's job? And for that matter, what is Jack's? In ToK he seemed to be a mechanic; is he more then that? How did Dirk and Jack meet; are they old friends or did they meet at NUMA? Do either of them have a gun they use like Dirk Sr.'s Colt? Any background on the new generation would be very appreciative.

it's not really THAT bad for a first effort

I agree, Black Wind was actually a hundred times better than either Trojan Odyssey or Valhalla Rising. Granted, that doesn't bring it to the level of some of the greats, but it wasn't awful.

I was actually hoping Jack would have a bigger role in it, and develop into more of an Al-type character, but with Summer tagging along all over the place, Dirk Jr. doesn't really have room for one. Haven't read ToK yet, though.

ToK was good. Not as good as the Sahara/Inca Gold era, but it was enjoyable. Jack manages to fill the Al role without being an Al ripoff.
