Title: Thunder Shock
Description: role-play

Riyukco - February 13, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
I would like to start a role-play, but it won’t be quite like your typical role-play. I will sort of narrate the story. The story will need a cast of characters. If you don’t get the character you want or just want to jump in feel free to add minor characters. Main characters can also have minors as well. When I get a full cast of main characters I will write the semi-fictitious historical beginning and let you all have at it. I may also jump in as a minor character. It may take me a while to reply, I have limited internet access. Mostly you guys will be writing the story. I just want to see where it goes.
Main Characters
Dirk
Al
Hiram
Admiral Sandecker
St. Julien Pearlmutter
A villain
A beautiful girl
Rudi Gunn
Loren Pitt
Possible Characters
Dirk jr
Summer

Tell me if this is stupid.

tonym5 - February 14, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
It's not stupid but it will attract only so many people who have the time and dedication like I do. I would love to be Hiram, St. Julien or the Villain. If you need any help just PM me. Also, take the time to read some of the stories here in Fan Fiction to get the feel of writing. w:

Hi,

I only just found this web site, i love Clive's books and would like to join in.
My only complaint with Clive's books, and really its more of a niggle, is that he could put a bit more heat into the romantic bits. So i'd be more than happy to be the romantic diversion in your story.

Riyukco - February 20, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)
I'm fine with that.

Riyukco - March 12, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
I'm still working on this one. I'm in the process of writing the begining right now. Hope to have it up soon.

Predawn

Captain Anton Leigh Hunt paced the deck of his ash-laden ship in the early hours of the morning. He cursed as another explosion rocked the boat. He turned around and glared at the hideous monstrosity that towered over the violent sea. He hated having to be so near the erupting volcano with his precious cargo. The fact that they were waylaid in the middle of the ocean for over a week had put their water supply five days short of their intended stop. Captain Hunt had intended to bypass the volcano altogether but the need of water forced him to stop at the shores of Krakatoa. It was nearly five-thirty and as soon as dawn broke, they would resume refilling the water casks and leave the monster behind. Hunt never realized that he only had a couple of minutes left before the first of the super explosions. The ship’s close proximity to the volcano was its undoing. In a matter of seconds the air was rocked with a noise never heard before, the sailors instantly lost their hearing, and their ship was towed under by a giant wave never to be seen again.

2002. Victor Swann, the captain of the Black Rose stood near the prow of the yacht as he watched his men haul the chest from the water from the depths of the sea near Krakatoa. Fuming at the delays and the costs involved in setting up this search for the Lille De Vittorio, it was finally coming to fruition for Victor's plans to seek revenge against the Corporate Shipping Companies that had him blackballed as a captain of the container ship, Harold Leigh.

Lying on the Vietnamese beach, Hannah Vardalos turned over on the long beach towel that lay beneath her and sighed with pleasure as the warmth of the sun hit her back. The man beside her opened the suntan bottle and squeezed out a good portion to begin applying the creamy lotion on her smooth back. He stared at her attractive body for a moment, soaking in the details of the long sinewy legs, the curvature of her thighs, the flat stomach and the roundness of her breasts. Putting his strong but callused hands on her back and slowly but steadily moving the cream into the glowing back.

Rudi was not pleased to be loaned out from NUMA and put in a position to help the shipping companies in their efforts to find new shipping lanes that would be out of the way but within maritime laws internationally and by the following sovereign laws of the countries that would be affected. Being in charge of a surveying crew aboard a non NUMA ship was sheer torture because the men looked down on him with their big burly selves and Rudi's small paunchy figure and thick glasses. Only one person on the Rose Marie spoke to him and that was a woman who was just as tough as the men, Heidi Sausseres. She was friendly enough but had the same general attitude as the men in their approach to him. The Captain, Andrew Hiram Fontine was barely pleasant. It was in the far western Pacific Ocean when the Rose Marie was near the coast of Papua New Guinea when an exploding geyser of water erupted near the Rose Marie and sent those on the decks running into the interior of the ship. Captain Andrew H. Fontine looked at the coastline of Papua New Guinea and decided to make a quick run towards the coast before his ship could be sunk. "Head towards Gunantambu, now!!"

Nathan Temple watched as Hannah Vardalos ran towards the vehicle after hearing from her assistant that trouble was brewing out in the Pacific. Lisa Merovian, Hannah's assistant had insisted on staying near the SUV to keep an eye on the radio. Graying hair was beginng to show around the edges of his upper face. Smiling but watching the sexy figure of Hannah running, Nathan wondered what could be so important.

After Dirk Pitt left, Hiram began to inquire of MAX the strange request Dirk had asked of Hiram and MAX. His hands flying over the keyboard, the information sped to MAX's super Cray 1030D mind and MAX began to search her datasbases and what could not be found was farmed out to other databases that MAX could tap into.

Congresswoman Loren Smith sauntered into the restaurant and most male heads swerved towards her including some of the women who found themselves either jealous or admiring the svelte figure, the hypnotic blue eyes and the glowing blonde hair. Loren stopped at the table where U.S. Senator Ransom Stoddard was sitting. He stood and pulled out the chair for the Congresswoman. U.S. Senator Ransom Stoddard represented one of the Rocky Mountain states out West.

Staring at the plate of Prosciutto stuffed Mushrooms with a light touch of Spinach on top and hollandaise sauce pored over it and the black bean salad that included roasted red peppers made St. Julien's mouth water. Uncorking a bottle of Merlot, he began to pore the drink into it's glass and then smiled at his guest, Summer Pitt and raised a toast to her, "To my lovely new partner in business!" Summer smiled back and cooed, "St. Julien, I promise I won't let you down in my search for what you need in Vietnam to make that special dish of yours."

Sitting at his desk remembering how he had met Dirk back in the late 1960s in Vietnam when he was shot down by the young Air Force major, Admiral Sandecker smiled ruefully at the incident now. Who knew what that meeting of Dirk Pitt would mean years later, he mused as he leaned forward in his chair trying to browbeat the Vietnamese Ambassador into a cowering position to make his point. "Your Excellency, my man on the Rose Marie is working hard to make sure the shipping lanes are drawn equitably, I can assure you" said the Admiral with a hard but diplomatic tone.

The defense contractor, Translykos Incorporated's satellite had hit it's mark near the Papua New Guinea coastline with such precision it took the breath out of those at the operations center aboard a nondescript container ship just coming into the Singaporean port. With the plan in motion everyone sighed loudly with relief.

Newport Beach, California. Al Giordino sat on the beach admiring every single young lady that was within his eyesight including the ones playing Volleyball, jumping up into the air gracefully and hitting the hard rubber ball. The ringtone of his cellphone chirped it's musical tune, and sighing, he picked it up and listened carefully to the man that was his best friend since kindergarden give him instructions on the new assignment. Slowly he picked everything up off the beach and with one long look back towards the young women playing on the beach, Al Giordino walked towards the parking lot.

"I would like to change your mind Congresswoman Smith about my support of the Translykos Satellite system and how important it can be for our nation's defense" stated U.S. Senator Stoddard. "Well, I am not inclined that way Senator because we have enough satellite defense systems already in the pipeline and one more just seems overkill to me and a waste of money."

Riyukco - May 24, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
Congresswoman Smith said, cooly. "It is just a big waste of the taxpayers' money." "You never know when we just may need it," Senator Stoddard said before he stormed out of the restaurant, leaving Loren stunned at the forcefulness of the man as he slapped down the money on the table. Leaving with his dignity somewhat intact, he felt it was only befitting that he still was a gentleman in paying for the meal of a very attractive woman.

Megan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I going to have to go over to your house and teach you the proper use of commas and periods as well as sentence structure.

Max walked down the sidewalk. There wasn't really much going on that tickled his fancy. He bumbed into someone; muttering a quick sorry, he started on his way again.

Two suggestions; a dictionary and a theasurus. Learn some new descriptive adjetives.

Victor Swann, a modern day pirate had spent most of his life learning about the the lost treasure ship, Lille de Vittorio that had sunk back in the 1640s with most of the crew lost and only two survivors, Patire Swann and Vlad Traxler had made it back to England with their different tales of what had transpired aboard the ship. Apparently the two men were in love with the same woman, Lille de Vittorio and how she had a special necklace of black pearl, emerald and gold. It was a stunning necklace that became known as the Translykos jewel necklace. It would be the well known Pirate of the late 17th century and early 18th century Blackthorne Traxler who would go on a lifelong search of the lost ship and ravaging every ship that crossed his path, looting and killing, yet never finding the lost ship.

tonym5 - May 30, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
The pirate, Captain Blackthorne Traxler, (1664-1739) and his Parrot, Patire. Patire chants the word Transleikos over and over. Captain Blackthorne knows the word is a clue to the location of buried treasure but was never able to find it. His son, Mercator (1699-1776) tried to find the treasure too. The grandson, Meridian (1731-1809) was with Patire when the parrot passed away in 1801. Meriweather Traxler (1767-1835), the great-grandson was the last one obsessed in finding the buried treasure. The great-great grandson, Kingsley Traxler (1803-1900) was a businessman who named his company Translykos. Antoine de Exuperan Traxler (1835-1912) succeeded his father Kingsley as the new head of the company and had enlarged the company through acquisitions. Lionel Kristof Traxler (1863-1932) continued the trend of acquisitions and also the search for the treasure. Marsden Theodore Traxler (1901-1959) was the first to marry a third cousin, Ellla Einhorn. Leo Carstairs Traxler (1936-1999) added a board of directors to the company. Lille de Vittorio Traxler (1968- 2041) would be the man to find the treasure when he learns that he was named after the ship that bore the treasure that was lost in the southwestern part of the Pacific Ocean near the island of Krakatoa. Yet it was only due to a modern day pirate, Victor Swann, that Lille De Vittorio Traxler would be able to learn of the whereabouts of the lost pirate ship.

tonym5 - May 30, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
Lille de Vittorio Traxler was 12 years old when he came across some family papers that he learned he was named after the ship, Lille de Vittorio, and why Blackthorne Traxler, his forefather had gone on a lifelong quest searching for his father Vlad's gift of the Transleikos bejeweled necklace to Lille de Vittorio. It would be years later when he would leak out tidbits of the story to libraries so that a modern day treasure hunter might be able to find the treasure.

After arriving in Hanoi with the treasure of the Lille de Vittorio, Victor Swann contacted an old friend of his from the Vietnamese war who could help him in finding a buyer for the treasure. Once Daniel Choi saw the Translekos jewel necklace he knew there would be big time bidders for the whole collection. Within 24 hours Lille de Vittorio Traxler knew of the treasure and was onboard his private jet winging towards Vietnam. Other big name billionaires came into Hanoi too and an auction was organized for the wealthy men. Inside an anonymous building on a side street the wealthy billionaires gathered and were shown the entire treasure including the transleikos necklace. Interest was high and bidding began on the treasure itself. Less than sixty minutes the Translekos necklace was brought forth to the stage and the silent bidding begun. The price rose fast as it soon approached several hundred million dollars. Lille de Vittorio Traxler was so intent on getting the necklace back into the family's hands again and soon took the bidding over a billion dollars.

Onboard the Orient Express Cruise Lines ship, De Morgenstern, Captain Jefferson Leigh Callum was onboard the bridge when the ship was struck by a rogue wave of over 90 feet high that exploded off the side of the ship. Within seconds the sound wave erupted everyone's eardrums and sent them reeling. Every single passenger and crewmember was affected and the ship keeled sideways from the soundwave that caused the eruption of the rogue wave. Despite the pain in his ears the radioman began transmitting a distress signal immediately.

After ariving in Hanoi, Summer Pitt took a bus trip to Le Moen, a small village that was known to have the famous Robin's Birds Egg Nest Soup. Once she tasted some she was not too crazy for it and within hours she had stomach problems but was determined to help St. Julien in getting the ingredients for the soup. After a whole night of recovering from the soup, Summer was able to acquire the ingredients after spending nearly two hours of haggling. She was able to catch the next bus back to Hanoi and despite her best efforts to get off at her stop, Summer was distracted by her fellow bus passengers to get off as soon as possible. Finally, after losing her patience with her fellow passengers, Summer got off at a street corner she remembered but despite her efforts to ask for help, she was lost. Finally, Summer had had enough of the hot sun despite wearing a big hat that made her look silly she stepped into a doorway. She began hearing a loud voice announcing numbers and decided to step inside to see what was happening. Within minutes she found herself staring at some of the most famous and infamous faces of the world. Two big men grabbed her.

The Silver Coastline hurtled along the tracks speeding at 120 miles per hour heading south towards her destinations of Los Angeles and San Diego, the speeding train was just passing La Jolla when the tracks ahead of her began erupting upwards as a sharp sound wave hit. Without enough distance to slow down before hitting the ruptured tracks, the Silver Coastline hit them head-on, causing her to buckle and jacknife nearly all the train cars. Ears were damaged first before several dozen passegers were killed in the breakup of the 24 train cars. It would be over a year later when the true cause of the disaster was revealed to the public. Due to National Security reasons the true cause was kept silent for as long as possible.
