Title: News from Dirk
Description: Inside Scoop

I'm sure the trial is getting "old" to lots of people - and everyone is starving for news - well I got an email from Dirk last week that includes lots of exciting info that he said I could share.

1) Dirk's started the next Pitt book - I can tell you it has something to do with the Northwest Passage and will have Pitt & crew frolicking around the Artic. Exciting, huh!

2) Clive was pretty pleased with Paul's work on The Navigator so it should be a hit with the fans! Just a little over a month to go for it!! I can't wait!!

3) Clive has been reviewing the galleys on The Chase - he also solicited Roland Dahlquist to work on some illustrations ala the Pitt books - that should add a little fun to the release. That means it's not far off from an ARC release. I've begun the groveling process - I have no shame.

4) On the NUMA front - a crew is headed to Lake Michigan this week to resume the search for a DC-4 that crashed there back in the 50's. Then in June - Dirk's headed back to England to resume the hunt for the Bonhomme Richard.

5) Jack is hard at work on the next Oregon Files book. Maybe Papa Jim can do some long-distance arm-twisting and find out some inside scoop on it!!

Thanks to Dirk for sharing this info.

Haha, I thought you were going to give us a good-news update on the trial!

Glad to hear the rest of it anyway. Looking forward to all of the above! Thanks for posting!

I am very interested in the trial and wondering if the trial was still on going. Have you heard any update to which way the trial is proceeding?

I like the new series of the Oregon Files. The Corporation is a great concept and I am interested in the design of the boat. Every time I read a new book in this series, I look forward to lerning new facts about the boat and crew.

The first book of the series Golden Buddha was confusing and did not flow. It took me a week to finish the book. I also had to repeat some parts of the book. I was not going to continue to read anymore of the series. Posted a message and got a positive response about the second book.

The second book Sacred Stone held my interest. The writing was much better, plot was very interesting, and the book flowed. The only problem that I had was that there were to many people in the book and I had trouble keeping track of them.

The third book Dark Watch was good. No trouble with the book. Finished in two days.

The fourth book Skelton Coast is the best. Could not put down. The finish was great.

I am now hooked on the series and can't wait until the next book comes out.

I'm sure Jack would be pleased to read your critique - I asked his friend Papa Jim to check on how the new Oregon Files book is coming - and Jim said the only thing Jack was willing to share (at this point) was that some of the story takes place on a ship called The Oregon ... Geez.. He did say Clive was pleased with his work so far, so I guess we display patience - which for me is sometimes hard to do!! LOL!!

One thing that I have noticed in Jack's Oregon File books is he has made a conscious effort to put life into the characters - we have certainly learned more about Juan and his crew in Dark Watch & Skeleton Coast. But I like how he has actually made the Oregon a character as well - adding layers of information and intrigue in each book. I'm really looking forward to the next installment - I'm sure Jack and Clive have something cooked up to serve our appetite.

In the meantime - The Navigator comes out in a little over a month!!
