I am a Kurt Austin fan. I guess there is not to many of us since almost everybody like Dirk Pitt. Don't get me wrong, I like Dirl Pitt and the series but I also like Kurt Austin. Also like the Oregon series. Come to think of it, I love all the series.

There doesn't seems to be many books with Kurt Austin. Could anybody tell me what the last book was and if there are going to be more books in the series.

Does Clive Cussler write the Kurt Austin series?

hey mrsgrandmom,
Great name by the way - The Kurt Austin series is co-authored by a great guy named Paul Kemprecos. The way it works - according to Paul - is he and Clive sit down and come up with the basic theme and plot of the book - then Paul writes it!! It's very much a collaborative affair - but Paul absorbs the "hard-part".

Clive has mentioned this process - as has Paul - at prior Clive Cussler Collector Society Conventions - so this isn't new insight or any kind of revelation.

By the way - I too am a huge Kurt Austin fan and I'm counting the hours until the release of The Navigator on June 5th!!

You're right Mrs GM, everyone here does love Dirk Pitt but I think you'll also find we're big fans of Kurt Austin as well. There's not as many books "From the NUMA Files" simply because they've really only been for the opast 10 years wheras the Dirk Pitt stuff has been around for at least three times that.

The last book was Polar Shift and The Navigator is being looked forward to...not long now!

Basically, if Clive Cussler is listed as an author or collaborator, it's a good chance everyone here is a fan of that book!

I think that would qualify as an understatement.

The first Cussler book I read was Lost City. I then read all of the Dirk Pitt adventures and now I'm currently reading Serpent.

Although Kurt Austin seems to be Dirk Pitt "Lite" - it's still an enjoyable read so far.

Can someone please post an updated list of the Kurt Austin series "order to read in?" - Maybe make it a "sticky."

Thanks!
