Real energy solutions for the real world close

Shell has launched a new global communication campaign using real-life stories about Shell employees solving complex challenges.

Chief Executive Jeroen van der Veer said: "This campaign shows how every day we use our problem solving skills with imagination and determination to secure the responsible energy future that people are looking for".

A 9-minute dramatised film spearheads the cinema and online campaign, with a 90-second version for television. Eye catching print advertising also showcases Shell's positive attitude towards creative problem-solving.

"Eureka" tells the story of how a Shell engineer and his team developed the groundbreaking "snake wells" technology used in a field offshore Brunei. For years Shell's best brains had struggled to reach oil trapped in small, hard to reach pockets in a difficult rock and sand formation.

The website also has interactive mind games for testing lateral thinking, memory, mathematics and analysis. Try out your creative problem-solving ability with Energy Ball, Memory Molecules, Number Well, Pipeline Planner and Polar Cell.

Visit www.shell.com/realenergy to watch the film, go behind the scenes with the making of the film, read the press ads and play the games.

If it's from an oil company they can stuff it. When fuel prices jump 20 cents overnight they can kiss my a** at their public relations attempts

I will back out of this one before I get myself burned.

I'm not getting after you it's just that I find it ridiculous that these companies are making nearly 40 billion dollars in profits and claim there is nothing they can do to lower the prices.

I agree with you there, too.
