I saw it on fox news but found nothing on Yahoo news or Cnn. It's hard to believe that nothing so historcial went with so little coverage. I was heartbroken. I have 2 models of it. One is 12" long and the other is 16". Long my it sail in our hearts. t:

It's heartbreaking, it made the headlines here...I'm not sure about other parts of the Country but because one of the 'big' guys involved was from here they covered it alot. It should have been covered anyhow, like you Patty I just don't understand how people can't care about this. Although last I heard they thought they could save her....I sure hope so.

Word is she'll be rebuilt but the planned visitors' centre won't be as the money allocated to it will have to go to the rebuild. Should get the little b*stards that lit the fire to clean the bilges out! I know she's in a dry dock of sorts, I think, but it'd be a nice, dark confined piece of fun for them...

Ok i live next to Canary Whalf about 15 mins away from the Cutty Sark by DLR(Dockland Light Railway) the news made this seam like the whole ship had gone up in flames including the masts but infact there is very little on site it has been stripped down to just the frame and the outer hull planking all internal parts and the mast have beet taken away for repairs so the pictures they shown was false with out all the info.
I have been on this ship a number of times and there is not a lot inside other than a shop and a lot of old heads for the front of ships although this is a shame it has happened I dont think it will make a lot of diffrence to it unless the main frame has been damaged.
There is currently a 3 mast dutch ship docked at the side of Canary Whalf if any one would like to look around a ship whilst the Cutty sark is been re-built there is also the hms belfast on the river to see aswell.
If I get any updates on the Cutty Sark I will post them here for you all.
