Title: Things to do at night
Description: for young professionals

So a bunch of my friends and I just graduated and we have all taken full time jobs around town. For alot of my friends working all day is new to them so they go home and crash. I am trying to come up with things to do in the evenings/night to acclimate us to longer days outside of watching movies and going out to bars. Any ideas?

ewww that's so very wrong.

Do active stuff like bowling and night walks, go dancing, join you local rover crew, become a leader a your local youth group, join the indoor sports comp at night, join a league team. Challenge another circle of friends to something. have a scavenger hunt.

ever hear of Geocaching? (using a gps to locate hidden items) anyways, some people I used to work with go geochaching at night, which can make it challenging becuase of visibility and sometime security if they're breaking rules ;) cop:

tonight I went indoor rock climbing and then we went for icecream. On wednesday we made wooden cars and are going to race them next week. Have a board game/cards night. Play trivial persuit it's generally a gentle evening activity if your all semi tired.

We get a room at poker stars each weekend just for our group. Play poker on line. If a person doesn"t or can"t come over, than they go on line from their location. Usually their are at least five people and four played location. We also chat too. We bet real money and win real money.

Yikes when I started working it was 9-10 hour days gfor 5 days a week and Saturday for 5h all standing on your feet.

It's important to actually socialise after work, as it takes your mind off work. Living on your own can add to stress.

Maybe a good idea is to set one or two nights a week apart for socialising, and each person have a turn to propose something.

Instead of movies go watch a play or live concert, and instead of bars, have a decent dinner together once a month.

Throw a party. Get an animal companion. Go on a date.

Go paintballing. I guarantee, that the moment one of those things hits you, you won't be sleepy anymore.

Not sure I'm much help here, Shaun. Most of my nights this week consisted of falling asleep on the couch watching the 9th season of The Simpsons on DVD.

I'll second PLB's idea of joining a summer softball/kickball league or something like that. It's just one night each week where you guys can get together and enjoy the Arizona outdoor evenings.

Good luck!

You'll like playing softball. David plays Poker with the guys on Tuesday night and baseball on Weds.
