ST. JOSEPH — The harbor at St. Joseph served as one of Lake Michigan's busiest commercial ports in the 19th century. The heavy volume of shipping inevitably resulted in many shipwrecks.
A program called "Lost on the Lakes: The Shipwrecks of Berrien County" will be presented by Bob Myers at the Krasl Art Center, 707 Lake Blvd. in St. Joseph, on Wednesday, July 25, from 7-8 p.m.
The program is free, but attendees are asked to register in advance by calling (269) 983-0271.
Myers is the curator of The History Center at Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs. His program is adapted from his book of the same title, published by Andrews University Press in 2003. Myers has published numerous books and articles on Berrien County history.
