I liked the movie it was great and the actors were just fine BUT I missed all the parts from the book that had to be left out. When I read and or listen to the story I do not see the words on the page nor do I hear the reader saying the words. I am in the story seeing everything and hearing everything! I am part of the adventure just like the writers mind could see the story…

After playing the movie many times I have the answer of how to put the books on the screen but I have no way to call Clive Cussler to explain the way. I also would have a hard time explaining therefore I am posting here and the ones that see what I am saying can get the info to CC.

CC said to do it correctly the movie would be seven hours long and such would not happen OK but if they did what has been done by others and make the film an animation with the actor’s likeness that did the movie all the book can be in the film!

I have tried to get this info to the correct people but I gave up so maybe if more people gave this idea some thought and sent emails we can see the complete stories on film. I have seen animation that is almost like real and in no way could one call such a cartoon!

Anyhow I think Michael Prichard is one of the best audio book readers ever.

Mac.

Mac4TBH It is nearly impossible to translate a book literally onto film because they are both different mediums. A storyboard starts out the process by visualizing what the printed words of a book describe. w:

Yes I understand what you have said about making movies of books BUT If one was to make a "cartoon" of the story I see no reason why most all of the story can not be in the animation.

Today they do animated stories that look almost real so doing the book on computers should be very good and with most of the story. Thanks for the reply and do have fun.

That sounds pretty interesting. I've never really been into animated films but it could work really well. Better special effects than you could ever get in a normal movie.

Make it a mini series then it could work

In animation you can get away with anything that CGI can't quite do but I still stand by the fact that a storyboard is necessary and eventually your eyes may be satisfied but it does not make up the difference that your brain can do a much better job by the imagination.
