Title: Couple of interesting things

Owen Ruger - February 20, 2008 01:51 PM (GMT)
So Tuesday morning around 05:45am I was finishing my shift and saw a very bright flash in downtown Bellevue. It looked like a couple of transformers exploding, but didn't think much of it. Then I find out that there was a meteor that burned out over our state and that the flash was seen from Idaho to Portland. Here’s a link to a video of it.

With the intensity and quickness of the flash, it’s a little scary to think that is how sudden a meteor could affect us. Poor dinosours!

Also, I heard on Coast to Coast AM last night that there was a recent study of the Antarctic deep-sea life, with some unusual finds. Here’s a link to an article on it and some cool colored pictures.

Great links, Owen. Thanks! What a treat to have seen that meteor I bet. I hear that's what the satellite will look like when the navy shoots it down tonight, but it's going to be way out in the Pacific. Maybe Hawaii will see it, but that's it.

I think the plan is called the $60 million dollar 10 second decision. I love the fact that this story was followed by the collision between 2 Air Force planes over the Gulf of Mexico.

Both pilots ejected but one died. :(

Thanks for the update Andy. At least one lived, would liked to have had both live.

Maybe the meteor was the "rogue satellite". ;)
