Title: Lennon Song, Imagine
tonym5 - February 28, 2008 07:07 AM (GMT)
On American Idol, one of the "young" male singers did John Lennon's song, Imagine. The wife liked it but I didn't but she asked me to listen to it without my eyes, so I did and did sense some angst. I am only 44 years of age but still remember the sixties and feel angry about those who idolize or feel for the ideals of the Baby Boomers. It is still amazing to hear a young person sing that song with emotion because it raises my hackles when I think of Hillary and Bill Clinton and what they represent. I just want to know if people still divide over the sixties despite the 2008 Presidential election that is called a "Uniting and Concluding" of what the 1960s were fought about. Am I still one of the few bitter people hanging on or should I be happy that another Clinton is seeking office just because she represents the dangerous elements of the sixties. I was born a member of the Generation X and want to know if people are still divided.

I don't watch Idol, but they played the song on our morning radio show yesterday. He did an awesome job on the song.
Tony, don't waste your life being bitter about anything. Life is to short. Be the person who lives their life to the fullest without holding a grudge for the past. th:

I actually have no idea what you're talking about. I'm 26 and not a fan of the Beatles. Haven't heard anyone before comparing the Clin-tonns to the 60s.

I've never liked the Beatles either but I was a teen-ager in the 60's and can't find anything to compare with the Clinton era. h**l I never even smoked pot until the 70's.

The Clintons are prime examples of 60s Liberals who took over the country once and we don't need need or want them again. If she gets elected we will see tyranny of a different kind than "W" Bush provided for eight years. Hillary worked for the Watergate hearings back in 1974 which gave her experience to dodge the same thing when it happened to her husband. Let us rally for McCain or Obama. Or if you want an alternative you could vote for me. p:
