Title: If I had the power...

To make Clive do one thing.
It would be to turn the Dirk Pitt series into a comic book as well.
I know that Clive has a bad taste in his mouth from the movie deals, but I was look at my childhood collection of Punisher comics and got to thinking. The adventures of Dirk and Austin would make great comics...
The Mack Bolan series was turned into a comic series, so I know novels can work as comics...
would be cool! What do you say Clive o'l buddy o'l pal? Dirk Pitt Comics?????

I agree that it could make a good comic book series, but I don't think there's quite the market for them now as there was in the past. Would be neat to see, though.

So, more a graphic novel than a comic book, perhaps? Well they're all comic bookcs but graphic novels seem to have more appeal these days.

That's a good start, but a complete comic would rock! cop:

This is something I would love to see. How about making it more cartoony (sp?) and educational at the same time. I like the idea of making all the characters "young" as teenager’s maybe, running around looking for treasure, getting into trouble. Dealing with issues that today’s kids deal with. . Kind of like what Smallville is to the Superman series.
I could totally see this as a Saturday morning cartoon. Make that sort of thing interesting for kids and you will have a whole new generation already into Clive before they even pick up a Novel.

I think very early in the Forum history there was a thread about this, and there was a comic strip in the newspapers. Any one of the early members remember this?

Kind of like Young Indiana Jones? It's hard to break into the youth market, but I'd love to see something like that!
