Title: Arctic Drift
Description: New Dirk Pitt Novel

Ace Roberts - March 14, 2008 12:15 PM (GMT)
Dirk Cussler has confirmed that Arctic Drift is the title chosen for the new Dirk Pitt novel. If you'll remember - he shared several months ago the story has something to do with the Northwest Passage. Right now - its scheduled to publish in November.

Excellent news! Lots of history re the NW Passage as well so it'll be cool to see what the guys do (Cusslers and P & G!).

Put me down for double or triple sign please. Would be my first one so I might as well get at least one!

Infernorhythm - April 13, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
I'm excited!

Lets see, the Cusslers said each book would rotate between Jr. and Sr. So that makes this a Jr. adventure. Excellent! I loved Black Wind and I'm looking forward to see Dirk, Jack, and Summer take the lead again.

Makes sense. Means you can run two stories concurrently I guess, therefore making more use of the years given DP and AG are getting on a bit!

Mid-50s by my count. They were 52ish in Trojan Oddyssey, so now they've got to be in the mid to late 50s.

I recently read an incredible book about the Northwest Passage and the lost Franklin expedition called "The Terror" by Dan Simmons. It was a very intriguing, fast paced book, and being a novel, the author did take many liberties with the story, but the action/adventure plot was a vehicle to bring to light the history and mystery of that fateful expedition. It's something Dirk might have on his bookshelf. Hell, this may even be part of the subject matter of Arctic Drift. Either way, I highly recommend it to any Cussler fan. You wont be disappointed.
