Title: Sorry about the down time
Description: I didn't forget about you guys!

Airman here, well technically Airman First class as of March 14. Anyhow, I'm still around but as of recent my grades had been suffering horrendously so pretty much anything extra-curricular got cut with the exception of a couple things here and there to keep me sane.
There's been a drastic improvement in my grades and I now have a computer with which to contact everybody, meaning I don't have to hop on one at the library anymore.
Anyhow, I'm still alive and still studying Arabic, al hamdu allah, in shah allah, kana ana efouz my last test.
My vocab isn't quite what it should be but I'm working on it. Anyhow, hopefully I passed my last test (just finished it about a half an hour ago). If I did I stick around, if not I may get recycled back in the program or potentially kicked out. Which isn't really fair, given that most who get kicked out haven't put in the time. For this past unit I haven't sent less than 1 hour a night studying, and for the past week has been upwards of 4 hours a night studying.
Easiest way to learn Arabic? Forget English, seriously, I can say a sentence using 3 languages, none of them English and not even realize I've done it. That's what D.L.I. does to a person, also it looks as though I'll be missing Cussler-Con, since classes won't be done until next March.
Anyhow, just thought I'd let ya'all know what was goin' on and why I hadn't been around.

Good to see you! My wife is going to be studying arabic in the fall, which means I'm going to be hearing all about it. :P
Good luck with the classes and tests, I hope you get to continue your program!

Well as it turns out I failed one part by 3 points. But since my grades have been improving since day one, I'm going to be rolled back instead of kicked out. At least that's the plan.
Also, when your wife studies Arabic I recommend that she does it SLOWLY

Sorry to hear about that, you'll definitely get those 3 points and more the next time!
Katie decided Arabic isn't going to work out in her grand scheme, but she's still hoping to maybe take a class just to have some background in it. It would have been very applicable to her study of medievil Spainish literature, but adding 4 semesters of non-departmental coursework to her Ph.D. was not in her best interests.
Good luck!
