Title: Best Car as far as beauty speed and grace
Description: I choose 1848 Lago Talbot

mindartnow - February 28, 2004 10:31 PM (GMT)
I wrote To Clive Cussler first when I lived in Sheridan Wyoming, and was happily surprised when he wrote back quickly. And also send me a photo of my favorite car, plus a bonus of Clive in front of the car. It's my most cherish photo from touring and playing in bands and living in Wyoming. I still play as well and tour when I have the time, and plan on buying the car from Mr. Cussler if he is willing to sell .

Ive always been fond of a 1937 Ford Fordor.
Take care
Mike

Here's one classic that I've always been facinated by. The sleek Cord with those wicked side pipes.

Maybe someone can post it for me. I love the 1929 Duesenberg Model J. I loved the Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang books, if you know what I am talking about ;) . This car has alot of class and was way ahead of its time during production.

I wasn't sure which model 1929 Duesenberg was your favorite, so you can click on this link to see each of the models.

My car of choice is waaaaay too modern for Clive's taste, or Pitt's for that matter.

I love Dodge Chargers, especially the 1968-69 models.

But out of Pitt's collection, I think I would have to go with the J2X Allard (Shockwave). Sporty!

Foss Gly, here's one I found for sale, only about $99,500.

Found it here: 1969 Dodge Daytona

My alltime favorite car is a 1969camaro I have one and hope to be driving it at the strip this year.

My all-time favorite car is still an E-type Jaguar. Pity I can`t afford to add one to buy one any time soon, so I guess I`ll have to be happy with my 1982 Corvette Collector Edition.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Why must you taunt me so with such images of things I'll never afford!
Beautiful pic, though, seriously!

Hiram_Yeager - March 15, 2004 11:03 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure of which cars he has, but I know that i would almost kill for a 1951 Mercury...

boissee - March 16, 2004 12:51 AM (GMT)
If I had my druthers, the 1932 Pierce-Arrow is sweet! The 1936 PA with trailer is also my fave!

Leigh Hunt - March 19, 2004 06:43 PM (GMT)
I agree with Dirk and have to go with the Cord

mgargiullo - March 19, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)
Ummm Super Bird... sick that they were under $8k new.... 35 years ago though....

The Cord has got to be one of my favorite....

It's beautiful...

kujo54 - March 20, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
Yup, the L-29 Cord is my favorite Dirk Pitt car too.

However, my favorite dream car would be the Saleen S7.
Speed, style and grace, rolled into one. It can be yours too for $395,000.00.

Ya there fun but hard to park at the mall! :D

I tend to drool most over a nice blend of form and power. Cobra, Hemi Cuda, 442, Mach. For classic's, '57 Chevy all the way.

Helene Noelle - April 19, 2004 05:43 AM (GMT)
Hiram Yeager, Paul and Gamay Trout would agree with you. They love their Hum Vee too!

But of all the beauties, I would pick the 1953 Allard J2X sports car (Dirk Pitt and Loren Smith liked it too).

tonym5 - April 20, 2004 05:42 AM (GMT)
my fav's are corvette stingrays, pontiac gto's, original firebirds but what i remember most when it comes to older cars is the white auburn that remington steele drove in an episode of that tv series. that was awesome! but i love all of CC's old automobiles.

ignacio_ruiz22 - November 9, 2004 02:31 PM (GMT)
For me the best cars are the J2X Allard and the Ford-Shelby Cobra. I love them.

Empress - November 10, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
I was just introduced to the McLaren F1 and that is as perfect as a car gets. Everything on it inside and out is flawless which is why it has one million dollar price tag.

loren1 - November 10, 2004 01:05 PM (GMT)
That's way out of my budget. I love the muscle cars of the 70's., but for Dirks Cars I love the 1936 Pierce-Arrow and Travlelodge from the Inca Gold Cover. Travel in" STYLE "

mattgarrett - November 11, 2004 11:37 PM (GMT)
Loren1 stole my thunder!

This is my favorite the Cord L-29

subarusailor - December 6, 2004 07:55 PM (GMT)
I'd have to say my car is one that's not even allowed on US roads, but is famous none the less. The Porsche 959. Its rare and fast by even today's standards, and can rally!

Just came across another classic car called the Blackhawk. Very beautiful indeed. I wonder if Dr. C has it? here's a link, www.blackhawkauto.org w:
