Title: Memorabilia
Description: What kind of memorabilia do you have?

boissee - July 25, 2004 08:06 PM (GMT)
OK, so I collect Titanic memorabilia and things from the UK. What types of memorabilia do you have from over the years besides Cussler?

BIG RED - July 25, 2004 09:09 PM (GMT)

Just curious... do reproductions count?

If so, I got newspapers from Dec. 7th 1941 (Pearl Harbor) June 6th 1944 (D-DAY),
and May 6th 1937 (The Hindenburg). Now all I need is one of the Titanic, the Lusitania, Andrea Doria, and V.E. day.

They absolutely do!

I have 3 Repro issues of newspapers concerning the Titanic. They are around.

Aside from Cussler books, I collect old wooden boxes of all various shapes and sizes. Most are on the small side. The oldest one I have is an odd shaped cabinet type wood box that is about 125 years old that I brought back with me from the Middle East. Its really unique. I also collect match books from every place my husband has ever taken me on a date from the time we met through now. I write the date and occasion on the insite of the match book.

I have a collection of Michael Schumacher F1 model cars. I'm a Formula 1 fan from way back and even have a parts of a damaged F1 car here somewhere. The only problem is there's no room to display them due to too many books. <_<

I collect a number of things, including Coca-Cola items, Captain Morgan rum memorabillia (including a slowly increasing empty bottle collection ;) ) and models of the 1966-72 Dodge Charger.
Oh, and of course, Cussler novels...

I collect John Wayne memorabilia...just penny ante stuff, but I am proud of it.
I guess the Duke and 'Dirk' were pretty much cut from the same cloth. Sad to say, some of my original movie posters and matinee cards were water damaged in my basement...I've since moved away from that house!

I guess the only thing I`ve got that can be considered memorabilia would be an advertising poster for a Steppenwolf concert I went to in Germany back in 1977. I`ve got it framed & hanging in my living room right now. beer:

Hey, I'm an Elvis fan too!

I don't have a collection like yourself, but I've been to see those Elvis impersonators in concert a few times. One in particular is truly great, his name is "Elvis to the Max"

Hey quetico1, would you be considering a DOXA for your new cussler collection? I have an "orange faced DOXA 300T" ! I am not sure if you have looked around for one yet. But there is a website, an official DOXA watch website if you have not seen it yet. Enjoy making your new collection. snor:

Did I mention I collect baseball caps? We pick them up from when my mom and I travel. I have them from all over the US and a few UK ones. My dad collects coffee mugs and probably has 200+ of them.

I have upwards of 3000 to 4000 'bootleg' CD's. I use that term in quotes because they are not illegal per se, roughly 95% of them have been taped at concerts where the artists condone the practice or taped off wedfeeds or radio broadcast pre-fm masters I copied. Pretty much have a very wide spectrum of music too, ranging from the Allman Brothers to Frank Zappa. Probably 1000+ are Dave Matthews Band shows, 200 or so of the discs are from shows I attended...I've been seeing them since they were nobodies trying to make it in small theatres and clubs. That's not even mentioning the 1000+ store bought CD's I have.

I also collect any NY Yankee Memorabilia. History books are also a hobby of mine, mainly military history but I have many other books on every aspect of world history that interests me. Yeah, I'm obsessive compulsive.

Titanic is the top of my colllection. My husband got me this. It's a model Titanic about a foot and a half long. It's made of wood. Really nice.
