Description: Dirk: Democrat or Republican?

Hi,

Well I am in the midst of Boston and F1s and military helicopters are flying overhead. Its hard to pleasantly read a Dirk Pitt novel in all this commotion!

So, Dirk: Democrat or Republican or Green even?
Clive: any political opinions?

Interesting. I've never really thought about that before. Dirk has never seemed to fond of politics. Wonder what will happen if Dirk becomes director of NUMA and has to deal with Congress and such.....

I was looking through the last few sections of Trojan Odyssey for trivia (hint, hint) and found on p. 474 of ch. 48 (I think) a line of dialogue where Senator Dunn is talking to Pitt and says something like "Your father is a Republican, I'm a Democrat."

Would Dirk be likely to follow in his father's footsteps party wise?

I like to think Dirk, now being director of NUMA having to deal with politicians would show his independent streak.

Clive is a Republican. He's good friends with Republican Mitt Romney who helped get Anschutz and Crusader involved in Sahara.

But you know that Clive follows his own drum beat. It just so happens to be from a center/right perspective.

Another oil magnate gone into the entertainment business is Phillip Anschutz. Seems he's not the only oil man who has done that. And one just passed away, Marvin Davis. Hmmmmmm, makes you think. det:
