Title: No Autograph's Please!
Description: Have anyone's autograph?
boissee - July 27, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
I found this article while looking around and it's about creative way to collect autographs. I have several autographs around here somewhere, like Sam Elliot and Jeff Daniels. Although I never actually met them, my dad did. I have Mark Schultz and now I have Clive autographs too. Do you have any?

jet_doctor - July 28, 2004 04:40 PM (GMT)
Hiram, I have been told it has and from what I've seen on ebay, the value has certainly shot up from a few years ago.
Mostly Heep - July 28, 2004 06:40 PM (GMT)
The only ones I have is a matchbook signed by Bernie Shaw(lead singer Uriah Heep)
I also have a signed promo photo of Mostly Autumn and a signed Dvd from the same band and thats only because I am mentioned in the booklet,I sent it back to England and had the band sign it for me.

I only have one celebrity autograph that I know is original, and that is Jerry Van Dyke. I don`t know if you would count celebrity signatures on photos copied off for mass distribution, but I have a few of them. Oh, and I also have Donald Rumsfeld`s signature on my Cold War recognition certificate. w:
DirkPitt007 - July 29, 2004 01:50 PM (GMT)
I have a Sean Connery autograph and besides that I only have some football players (not a big fan of the sport, my friend is though and he got me the autograph), and a bunch of Major League Soccer players.

I've got too many NASCAR and Star Wars (sci-fi dork and redneck), but after approximately 25 years I finally got my favorite author! (Not to mention his son and wife to be) Hopefully, someday I can get an in-person autograph from C.C. instead of a mail away signing. Thanks Poisoned Pen!
JamieNYY - January 24, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
I collect a lot of autographs too. Six of my Cussler books are signed including three co-signed by Kemprecos. I have a few Bernard Cornwell autographed novels. I have a couple pictures autographed by original members of the 'Band of Brothers' made famous by the HBO mini-series, including Richard Winters. One of my favorites is a framed inscribed (to my uncle named after him) picture signed by Genaral Douglas MacArthur.
As for sports I have literally dozens of NY Yankee autographs from DiMaggio, to Mantle, to Mattingly, to Jeter, to Rivera and many others in between. Soem old Hartford Whalers players I have autographs from. I'm not into NASCAR at all but somewhere in my closet is a hat signed by Earnhardt, Alison, Pruitt, and about 5 other drivers who knew a mutual friend and driver.
I had lunch with James Earl Jones and he signed a Holland America Line stationary paper for me with the inscription 'May the force be with You!' I have a letter written to me by Bob Ballard shortly after he found the Titanic, I was fortunate enough to speak with him on the radio and he could not have been nicer.
I've also been fortunate enough to meet Dave Matthews and his band a few times over the years and have a few items signed by all of them. Probably some more that I am forgetting but thats some of my favorites off the top of my head. Nice to know I'm not the only one who has collected signatures.
Cheers ~ Jamie

Cheers Mrs. Ballard,
sorry to make you envious but we're even now... since your collection makes me jealous! Try writing Woods Hole C/O Bob Ballard and send him a link to your virtual tour, you may well get a nice letter in return. I know he is, or at least was, very receptive to mail from his fans. I will mail that bottle to you tommorrow, it proved tougher to package than I initially thought and I didn't want you to receive a pile of broken glass with a Titanic logo! Hope all is well with you!
All the Best ~ Jamie
