Does anybody remember a line or two when Pitt was mentioned in the NUMA files
novels?
Here is a reference of Austin and Zavala in Trojan Odyssey...

QUOTE
...Kurt Austin, with a premature forest of gray hair, who was Pitt's counterpart as director of special projects, and Joe Zavala, the wiry engineer who often worked on submersible designs and construction with Giordino, stepped forward and shook hands.

"Where is the old geezer sending you two?" asked Giordino. "Heading for the Canadian north country. There's rumors of mutant fish in some lakes. The admiral asked us to check it out."

"We heard about your rescue of the Ocean Wanderer in the middle of Hurricane Lizzie," said Zavala. "I didn't expect to see you back in the harness so soon."

"No rest for the weary in Sandecker's book," Pitt said with a half grin. Austin nodded at Dirk and Summer. "One of these days I'll have you and the kids over for a barbecue."

"Id like that." accepted Pitt. "I've always wanted to see your antique gun collection."

"And I've yet to see your auto collection."

I know he was mentioned in Serpent.

I scanned it in. It was a lot easier than typing, although a little harder to read this way.

They actually talked in 'Serpent' it was when they were (Austin& Zavala) waiting for the elevator. Pitt & Giordino got out, they talked, then Austin & Zavala got in.

Hej,
it would be so great if we can read a book from CC with Dirk Pitt and Kurt Austin together in an adventure. Was CC already thinking of that ?

Since both were published in 2003 perhaps this line is a reference to Austin's adventure in White Death? For instance... maybe Clive knew Kemprecos basic storyline involving those nasty little fish (though not the places) in White Death and alluded to it in Trojan Odyessy with this dialog? Clive may not have known White Death would be published before Trojan Odyessy when he wrote that scene. Thoughts anyone?

Having read White Death before TO I thought the fish story occured before TO but having just finished reading TO I just assumed the two stories were occuring about the same time. Maybe it was just a wrap-up of the white fish thing that Kurt was referring to in TO. But yes after reading JamieNYY's post it made me do a double-take and thinking.

Dirk shows up in Polar Shift too for a brief appearance.

Yeah, I don't like that scene. It makes it seem like Dirk was more worried about his car than Kurt. <_< Thats just the impression I got.
