Kurt Austin : coral blue eyes, premature gray hair, six foot one body on a two hundred pound frame, easy smile and good humor.

Austin came to NUMA from the CIA. He is leader of NUMA's Special Assignments Team.

Austin's residence is located in a boathouse below the Potomac Palisades in Fairfax, Virginia. He drives a sedan from the Numa carpool, nondescript except for its turquoise color. Kurt was a student of philosophy. He has bookshelves crammed with works of great thinkers.

Austin's Team of Experts Include

Joe Zavala : dark complexion and thick black hair. Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Zavala is a brilliant engineer specializing in underwater vehicles.

He lives in a former district library building in Arlington, Virginia. Zavala attended the New York Maritime College. He boxed professionally as a middle weight there. Joe drives a 1961 Corvette convertible. 'Considered a ladies man.'

Paul Trout : is a deep ocean geologist. Father was a Cape Cod fisherman. Paul is six-foot eight, married to Gamay.

Gamay Morgan Trout : doctorate in marine biology, highly skilled diver who is specialized in nauticle archaeology. Gamay is attractive but not gorgeous. She is tall, five-feet ten and 135 pounds. Her hair is long and dark red. Her father named her after the grape of Beaujolais. Gamay was born in Racine, Wisconsin. She is married to Paul.

Ian Mac Dougal : former marine fighter pilot. Ian is tall and lean, quite the opposite of Perlmutter. Mac Dougal's encyclopedic knowledge of aircraft history matches that of St. Julien Perlmutter's knowledge of the sea.

If anyone can recall additional info about these characters, I'll add it to their profiles.

Don't forgot trusty old St.Julien Perlmutter.

St. Julien Perlmutter: considered one of the world's leading authorities on maritime history. Lives in a carriage house full of maritme books in Georgetown. Also a wine conisseur and gourmet chef.

Here's something I found on Paul Trout from Serpent ;

QUOTE
As usual, Trout's appearance was impeccable. His light brown hair was parted down the middle, as was the style during the Jazz Age, and combed back on the temples. He was wearing a tan poplin suit, Oxford blue shirt, and fine of the large, colorfully designed bow ties he was addicted to. In contrast to his sartorial correctness, Trout also favored workboots, an eccentricity some thought was homage to his fisherman father. In reality it was a habit he picked up at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution where many scientists wore them.

The son of a Cape Cod fisherman, Trout spent much of his boyhood hanging around the world-famous institution and was offered weekend and summer jobs by scientists who went out of their way to be friendly to a youngster so fascinated by the ocean. His love of the sea later took him to the equally renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography majoring in deep ocean geology.

Well the obvious ones are:
He collects antique duelling pistols.
To relax he uses a racing scull on the river.
He also drives a hydroplane for his dad.

I think I recall him wanting to have a tequila on the rocks with lime like Dirk. Can anyone confirm?

Not sure if it's his favorite though.

In White Death he mixes himself a Dark and Stormy after his dog sled fun. I don't think we know yet what his favorite is though. At first he was being set up as Dirk's double (hence the tequila) and now he's being given his own personlity. We'll find out more about him as time goes on just like we did with Dirk.

Well we know one drink he loves and thast his Jamacian Blend coffee. Other then that one i don;t think it is really specified. Only thing I can think of is that he has a sopisticated palate becasue he is always indulding in the good wines...and dark beer=) beer:
