First, I have to admit I couldn't think of a title for this topic
I just finished reading chapter 7 of Blue Gold and have to say I found the meeting in the Viking ship in the middle of the room pretty cool th:

He was in a massive, high-ceilinged chamber. The great hall was lit by the fire from a huge hearth and blazing wall torches that vied for space with brightly decorated shields and pennants, spears, battle-axes, swords, and other instruments of death that recalled a time when war was an exercise in personally butchery. The lethal artifacts paled next to the object occupying the center of the room. It was a Viking ship about seventy feet in length, its oak planking curved into an upswept bow and stern. The single square hide sail was set as if to catch a following breeze. A gangway near the stern allowed access to the deck and to a long table that ran lengthwise with the mast as it's center point. |
Are there any parts of the Kurt Austin novels that have stuck in your mind that you enjoyed, found interesting etc????

I really had to wrack my pea brain for this one
The dungeon scenes in LC were interesting.
Also in BG,the description of the native village with the working plumbing.
There are probably one or two more but I can't think of them right now

There was something in Fire Ice and something in White Death, but I can't remember.

The one adventure that stands in my mind is the old air field base Austin and Zavala check out in Blue Gold. Great chapter!

The description of Lost City in the Atlantic Ocean. When I read it I thought it was just fictional but learned some time back in a newspaper article that it is very real. snor:

I liked the sled dog race through Washington in White Death. Shades of Dirk there but Kurt does have his own style.

I like the dog sled race too Maeve. It is like dirk and Al. I also liked the Viking Ship in the middle of the room. th:

One scene that sticks in my mind is when Kurt and Joe rescue Paul and Gamay from the giant whirlpool in Polar Shift. A very cool scene. th: The dog sled race is another favorite, as is the plane escape from the Fauchards in Lost City. The underwater temple in Serpent is another great scene! th:

I would have to say my favorites are the sled scene through the streets of D.C in WD, The Poe party scene as the Fauchard mansion in LC and definately the Killer whale scene in the beginning of Polar shift. All of them are great, Kurt and Joe just kick no matter what, but hey lets not forget the Paul and gamay scene in BG where Gamay does some fine shootin at the Natives in their escape by canoe... w:

Something tells me Lost City is going to be a very good book.
I still have to finish Blue Gold, and White Death though. I've only read Serpent and Fire Ice from that series.

Were the wooly mammoths from a NUMA Files book? Realism aside, that whole scene was pretty neat. It's one of the only ones that really sticks out in my mind, as I have trouble remembering much of the Kurt Austin books (as it seems others here do as well).
