Thanks, I'm listening/ watching now th:

I couldn't see the interview due to tech problems, but the audio was just fine.
Clive puts on a good show. He has a great way of coming across, and has a great sense of humour. (Especially his dirty "nurse" joke! :P )
Of special intrest, he touched on the "immaculate conception" of Dirk Jr. and Summer. And I was interested in how he intervove historical fiction/fact.
His thoughts on Sahara are of intrest. He's not a fan of Zahn, but doesn't seem too upset over the casting of Matt.

Good stuff, thanks for the heads up on this!!

Thanks for the link, dirkpittne th:

I couldn't believe the joke that Clive came out with :o That was hilarious and the book crowd thought so too!

I guess the question of Dirk Pitt jr. and Summer's conception has now been answered by Clive Cussler himself .... "I goofed." He admits in the speech that Dirk never did the deed with Summer in Pacific Vortex.

At the start, the presenter mentions "The Society of the Cusslermen" before he introduces Clive. Not many people know this, but that name was one I thought up years ago when Dave and I built the original Cusslermen website. So that gave me a buzz when he mentioned it.

Cheers ... p:

Having just watched the interview, I thought Clive was great. He had the audience laughing and that joke he told, WOW.
I liked how Clive talked about SAHARA - that makes me mad when they haven't listenned too him.
His Admitting he goofed when it came to Summer and Dirk Jr.

My final comment, I sure wish he would come to Toronto, Canada. beer: th:

When it come to the deed of spawning Dirk Jr and Summer. He should of just said "it was a seamount."

It was a great speech! I about spit my coffee out when the punchline to his joke came out. :o That was quite a jaw-dropper!

hiramyaegar - October 11, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
I'm watching it now. th: Excellent!

I noticed a mistake in the guy's intro - its not the CSS Hunley. The Hunley was a privateer, not a Confederate government ship.

akberg - October 11, 2004 10:55 PM (GMT)
Actually the Hunley was a Confederate government ship run (for the most part) under a Confederate Lt. Dixon so C.S.S. H. L. Hunley is the correct name.

Just finished watching the interview. I don't think I have laughed so hard in a long time. Who knew that this wonderful writer was so funny and had a such quirky sense of humor. It took me a minute to recover from his joke!! Thanks for letting us know about this!!

I've watched it 3 times so far and each time I am very impressed with Clives sense of humor.
Thank-you for providing it to us.
