Hey Everybody, i thought I would plunge into the writing fiction earlier than planned, I took the idea from the spin offs topic.
This is a Loren pitt Novel that I thought i would do on here, add chapters when I can. Now I want honest critiquing here, but have fun with a character we all have fallin in love with.

1959

As he sat in the cruiser waiting for back up Deputy Sheriff Marc Sturman closely watched the men in the shadows arguing. He had been tailing James Bubba Scott for a couple of months, Bubba as he was known by his friends, shipped Illegal arms and had started a lucrative drug operation.
Marc had known Bubba for years going as far back as first grade, Bubba had been a bully and a bad seed even back then. Plus Bubba’s daddy had been the Mayor of Santee just off I95 in South Carolina for years and his grandpa before that. For years the Scott’s had owned and controlled this town. Marc knew this bust would change all this.

Marc looked at his watch, wondering where his back – up was. He looked over to the shadows and he noticed Bubba pointing at something in his hand. Marc made a quick decision, a decision that would alter his life in ways he never thought.
He got out of the cruiser and quietly moved closer to the shadows, he could hear Bubba’s voice, the other men sounded Russian but there was something different, something when they spoke he couldn’t put his finger on. Inching closer Marc could tell that the two closet to Bubba were heavily armed and the third man who along with Bubba seemed to be doing the most talking. Marc looked at his watch again, where was his back – up. He softly swore to himself as it looked if they were breaking up. “ Where are they dammit “?
At that moment sirens could be heard, Marc stepped out of the shadows “ Hold it Bubba, your all under arrest” the one that was closet to Bubba raised his gun, Marc had no choice but to fire back. The Russian was hit in the belly, Bubba tried to run away but tripped over the Russian. The 2nd Russian fired hitting Marc in the leg, as Marc stumbled and fell to the ground. Looking up he saw the two remaining making a run for it, he quickly fired hitting and spinning one of them. The last Russian for a brief moment looked back at Marc and nodded then disappeared behind some garbage bins. As the police cars surrounded the scene Marc could not help but wonder who that Russian was.

Loren looked at her wedding ring and thought back too that wonderful day when she said I do to Dirk. It is hard to believe that it was only just over two months ago. Dirk was starting to settle in as the head of Numa. Admiral Sandecker was starting too get used to becoming a politican. If someone had asked a year ago if this would have been possible, in all honesty she would have told them they were crazy.

Loren’s attention was diverted back to her surroundings as the Speaker of the House. Robert Lockhart brought the afternoon session into being by the rap of the gavel.
As the Speaker was explaining which votes and bills would be debated and voted on, Loren noticed that Congressman Marc Sturman, Democrat from the 6th District of South Carolina. Marc glanced her way while he struggled to put his briefs on his desk and the other hand a coffee.
Loren noticed how tired and old looking the Congressman was looking. She had always liked Marc, the Congressman had been like a mentor and Loren had been over a nymber of times to the Congressman home for dinner. Marc’s wife and Loren had become long life friends. It was a blow when she and her daughter and granddaughter had been killed in a car accident just before Loren and Dirk had been married.
Loren got up from her seat and walked over, “Here Marc, let me help you” Thank You Loren, kind of you” said the Congressman. Loren took the coffee from him and set it on his desk. The Congressman grabbed Loren’s arm as to steady himself. “Marc are you alright”? Ah, Yes just felt a little dizzy” “ I’m okay now”
Loren helped him sit down, “ if your not well Marc, why don’t you go home” Loren cared deeply for him, in some ways she felt That Marc Sturman had been like a father to her.
“No I’m fine now, actually Loren I had stopped by your office on the way here, and they had said you were on the floor” “what’s up Marc” asked Loren?
“Can we meet later, I want to address this bill first, would that be ok” asked the Congressman?
“of course Marc” Loren turned and walked back to her desk, she could hear the Speaker of the House acknowledge the Congressman from the 6th District.
Before Loren could sit down, there was a thud and a gasp from everyone in the House. Loren turned, Congressman Marc Sturman lay on the floor

I do want to thank Nick Kismet for his editing suggestions, he was a big help with some editing chocies, i'm glad he gave me those. I will make those changes at some point - tomorrow I will have some more for people to read.

Before Loren could sit down, there was a thud and a gasp from everyone in the House. Loren turned; Congressman Marc Sturman lay on the floor. For a brief second there was a stunned silence. Then a flurry of movement as Congressmen rushed to the fallen man’s aid.

As Loren rushed to the Congressman’s side, she could here the Speaker of the House call for the security and medical help. Loren could not see any movement from the Congressman’s body, Lillian Stephen’s Congressman from the 23rd District of Maine was also a family doctor was feverishly attempting to get a pulse.
“Loren, he isn’t breathing, I can’t get a pulse” exclaimed Congressman Stephens. Loren was about to start CPR but was stopped by Lillian.” Do you know how do perform CPR properly Loren”?
In her shocked state Loren could not answer, “Its ok, but your going to have to move” Moving over so Lillian could try to save her friend, Loren moved over and sat in shocked silence.
Congressman Stephen’s positioned and started CPR, within seconds the congressman who was trying to save another, stopped CPR and clutching her chest collapsed beside the one she had tried to save. Some one hollered Anthrax!

As Summer Pitt eased into the parking space at the parking lot of the Cannon HOB (one of House Offices for Congressman) which held Loren’s office. As Summer got out of her car she noticed that there was a unusual amount of Capitol Police and Washington D.C. Police.
Walking over to a officer Summer asked “ Excuse me, what is going on?

Hey Folks, Mandasy thanks, I had been pouring through the net trying to find the right Toxin, if you could, would you let me know where I can find the Website for that Toxin - I want to make sure I have of the right Toxins right, we'll be seeing more later.

Also I have decieded that I will do this like the old matinee serial's, that way I can keep everyone guessing or wondering what happens next.

Hey, the story's going good. Just a couple things though...

CPR...not a big deal to learn. A doctor or anyone for that matter, will take whatever help is offered if someone needs CPR, one can breathe the other do compressions.

Anthrax. Everyone in that room would be screwed, especially Loren because she was in such close contact. Unless you give congress all immunizations or something, need to watch that. Just a bit of info for you.

But I like the way your story is heading. Keep it up.

First all Jimmy thanks for your suggestions - I am doing some checking on diiferent chemicals and poisons and chemical warfare, so when I get back writing the Novel, I will have some knowledge, the other part is that it may not be Anthrax that has happened in the story line - I'm headed some where but not sure which chemical it will - keep watching.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words, I have a disease called RSD -Reflix Sympathic Dystrophy - it attacks the nervous system throughtout my body, I have the aggresive kind which causes extreme pain and then numbness, it has affected my whole right side and is now spreading to the left. So its something I will have to contend with for the rest of my life.

Tonym5 - The Business is a Political Communications Firm, we are hoping to have a our website up and running in two weeks time - I will let everyone know when it is - if interested.

Finally I hope to be back writing the Novel soon.

Hello All: Back From A Long Absence


I want too say Hi to everyone, I have not been on for months and months and months - OK A LONG TIME.

This gives me a chance to tell you of my adventures thse past months:

I have had to continue with my health problems, but have had to spearhead a new newsletter for my church that my wife and I have been a part of - for 6 years. That had to take a majority of my attention and effort. With me now wrapping that up and passing it on to better qualified than me, I can now move on to other things.

But in between that I have earnestly been doing my research on my two novels I have in the works - one being a Murder Mystery and two a Historical Novel on the War of 1812. Both novels have taken my time far as the research goes.
The research has been enjoyable but painstaking. If one thing I picked up on reading comments from all of you, on my little bit of the Loren Pitt Novel - research is essential to move forward before you get into the writing faze of a book. So now I start to write in earnest !!!!

Also in the next 6 to 12 months my wife and I will be moving back to out old Hometown of Belleville, Canada - my wife having accepted a new job - plus for me a quieter place for me too write and devout my time too my novels - I have set a deadline for me to get something in too publisher here in Canada plus the U.S - I hope to have an Agent by August - We'll see on that - and hope I am published by next yr. Those are the goals I have set.

Now I come to the Loren Pitt Novel - I hope to be able to start putting some snippets in once and awhile, trust me I haven't forgotten, and sorry to everyone who has come too see more - I will try too update it soon.

I am back to contribute too the site from now on - as I have gotten a laptop now to do so. Its good to be back, and I hope too hear from you all soon!!!!!!

j2pphillips, good to see you back! Keep us updated regarding your books. Having your own book published can be painfully time consuming but it'll be worth it.
