EDM (AP) - The Edmonton Oilers announced today they have aquired goaltender Roman Chechmanek from the St. Louis Blues. Details are still sketchy but it appears the Oilers parted ways with Danny Markov, Alexei Morozov, and Reinhard Divis for Chechmanek and Alexander Daigle.
"To acquire a top flight goalie is great for our organization. With the how well our goalies have played so far, it increases our chances of making the playoffs for the first time. Roman and Freddy look to be a great tandem and with Jussi's recent three game win streak he looks to figure in the mix as well." GM David Foiles told reporters via telephone conference.
