Anaheim, CA --
The Anaheim Mighty Ducks General Manager James Love the 2nd spoke today to the press for the first time regarding his plans for next season and beyond.
"First off, I would like to thank the press of Anaheim and the rest of the CTCHL for giving our organization a time to breath after our dissapointing season and not rushing me to speak to you". Started GM Love. "Now on to business. The following players will be made available starting at the draft for trade. Putting them up for trade does not mean there is any problem with the player and myself just that some didn't play up to par, some don't fit into our future, and some simply will be moved because after a horendous season we feel like we need a face lift. Jan Hrdina, Andy McDonald, Darcy Tucker, Adam Deadmarsh, Jamal Mayers, Philipe Boucher, Tommy Westlund, Alexei Smirnov and our all-star center Jason Allison will all be made available for trade talks. All players have been notified prior to today about our plans and we explained to each of them why they will be moving."
Love also commented on the upcomming UFA's on the team roster.
"Todd Reirden and Trevor Kidd will not be offered new contracts. We feel they no longer fit into our plans and we want to give them a chance to find a chance to play elsewhere in the league." stated Love, "Brylin we will ba offering a contract. He played great for us and was our most solid center man all year. His experience is valuable to our team and we want to keep him in Anaheim. However our #1 priority in this years free agency is to re-sign Bill Guerin. We gave a lot for Bill and he never dissapointed, as he played great for us once we picked him up. We plan on contacting his agent as soon as the CTCHL allows us to. He is a huge part of our team and we want him and Patrik (Elias) to be the leaders for our team for years to come."
