Marian Hossa (LOS)

Marian Hossa (RW/LW), has been awarded with the first player of the week award of the 2003-04 season in the CTCHL. Hossa gets the award after scoring 8 goals and 10 points in 4 games for the Los Angeles Kings. Hossa where also +4 during the first week.

Hossa edged out Magnus Arvedson (LW) of the Chicago Blackhawks who had 5 goals and 3 assists in 4 games. And fellow Los Angeles King Michal Rozsival (D), who had 2 goals and 4 assists in 4 games.

This is Marian Hossa's first player of the week award of 2003-04.

WEEK 2

Roman Harmlik (ATL)


Roman Harmlik (D) with the Atlanta Thrashers have won the second week award, as player of the week. Hamrlik recives the award after his 5 points (all assists) in 3 games played. He was also a +6 in the 3 games played.

Roman Hamrlik edged out Eric Daze (Colorado) and teammate Patrick Marleau for the award. Daze had 4 goals and 1 assists in 3 games for his Colorado. While Marleau had 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points playing for Atlanta.

This is Roman Hamrlik's first player of the week award for the 2003-2004 season.

Joe Sakic (OTT)


Joe Sakic ( C ) of the Ottawa Senators has won the player of the week award for the third week this season. He his 2 games this week, he had 5 points (all assists) and was a +3 for the week.

Sakic won the honors over Brendan Shanahan of the Vancouver Canunks, who had 3 goals and 8 points (+ 7 for the week) in 4 games, and Rico Fata, also of the Canunks, who had 7 points (3 goals) and a + 7 in 4 games.

This is Joe Sakic's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season

Janne Niinimaa (WAS)

Janne Niinimaa (D) of the Washington Capitols has won the Player of the Week Award for week 4. In 4 games this week, the offensive defensemen had 6 points (of which 2 were goals) and was a +6.

Niinimaa won this award over last weeks winner, Joe Sakic of the Ottawa Senators, who had 4 goals and 8 points in 4 games, and Week 1 winner Marian Hossa, who had 2 goals and 6 points in 3 game with the Los Angeles Kings.

This in Niinimaa's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season, and the 2nd time a defenseman has won the award this young season.

Yannic Perreault (VAN)

Yannic Perreault ( C) of the Vancouver Canucks is the 5 winner of the Player of the Week Award. In his 4 games this week, Perreault had 3 goals and 3 assits for 6 points. He was also a +6.

Perreault won the award over Nashville's Sergei Fedorov, who had 6 points (3 goals) in 4 games and San Jose's Patrice Brisebois, who in 3 games had 4 assits.

This is the first time Perreault has won the POTW award this season.

Keith Tkachuk (TOR)

Keith Tkachuk (LW) of the Toronto Maple Leafs is week's 6 winner of the Player of the Week Award. In 3 games, the Maple Leafs' power forward scored 4 goals and added 2 assits for 6 points. He was also a +5.

Runners up to the award were San Jose's Mikeal Samuelsson, with 3 goals and 7 points in 4 games (a +8 as well), and Tkachuk's teammate Lyle Odelein, who scored 2 goals and had 5 points in just 3 games.

This is Tkachuk first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season.

Radek Bonk (CGY)

Radek Bonk ( C) of the Calgary Flames wins the latest Player of the Week Award. In week 7, the native of the Czech Republic scored 4 goals and added 3 assits for a total of 7 points in just 3 games. He was a +5 for the week.

Bonk won the award over Minnesota's Ray Whitney who has 7 points (4 goals) in 4 games, and Dallas's Andreas Johnansson, who in 5 games had 9 points (4 goals).

This is Bonk's first POTW award for the 2003-2004 season.

Brent Sopel (BOS)

Brent Sopel (D) of the Boston Bruins is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award. The handsome 6 ft 1 Canadian defensman had an amazing offensive week with 2 goals and 7 points for the week with a plus/minus of 3. He had 2 goals and 4 points and was a +3 against the Habs earlier this week. He continued his strong play the following game with 2 assist against the Leafs the next game.

Sopel got the nod over fellow Bruin, rw Jaromir Jagr (3 goals and 8 points in 4 games) and offensive dynamo, Marian Hossa (3 goals and 6 points in 3 games) of the Kings.

This is Sopel's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season. This is also the third time a defensiveman has won the award this season.

Adam Deadmarsh (ANA)

Adam Deadmarsh (RW) of the Anahiem Might Ducks is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award. The gritty right winger had himslef quite an impressive offensive week with 5 goals and 7 points in 4 games with a plus/minus of 6.

Deadmarsh got the nod over Carolina's Ryan Smyth (6 assits in 3 games) and youngster Scott Gomez (5 goals and 9 points in 5 games) of the Stars.

This is Deadmarsh's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season.

Mario Lemieux (DET)

Mario Lemieux © of the Detroit Red Wings is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award. The Hall of Famer was simple "Le Mieux" (loosly translated to "the best") this week. In just 2 games with his new team, Lemieux surprised everyone with 2 goals and 9 points.

Lemieux was choosen over Colorado's Mark Recchi(4 goals and 7 points in 3 games) and fellow Wing Kristian Huselius (5 goals and 8 points in 4 games).

This is Lemieux's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season.

Mats Sundin © of the New Jersey Devils is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award. One of the league great captains, Sundin lead his team with 4 goals and 6 points in just 3 games this week with a +/- of 6.

Runners up to Sundin were Carolina's Daniel Briere (6 goals and 8 points in 5 games) and fellow Devil Paul Kariya (2 goals and 4 points in 3 games) of the Stars.

This is Sundin's first POTW award of the 2003-2004 season.
