Title: Girls
Description: I'm coming out
Lunabell - July 23, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
Ok, I figure the internet is a good place to come out. I'm a lesbian. I didn't know for sure until last night. My friend Carolyn and I were talking and she told me she thinks I'm gay. She didn't mean it in a bad way, she's all for gay people, she was just telling me her opinion. I thought about it for a while and I told her I thought I was bi, because there are guys I think are hot, but then if I really think about it, I DO like girls. She said later that she thinks I like looking at guys, but I like girls. Before she left, I told her I'm bi, but I like girls more than guys. Then after she left, I thought about what we were talking about and I realized Carolyn was 100% right. I really don't care that much about guys. It really makes sense. I've always kinda looked at Miranda's boobs (I hate her, but she's still pretty) and I've been thinking my friend Christina's hot. And I can kinda picture myself making out w/her (christina, not miranda). But at the time it started, which was in 8th grade, I'd heard that everyone's a little gay, so I figured that's all that way. Also, I've had really strong pro-gay feelings. I mean, almost nothing makes me more furious than someone saying something bad about gay people. But I don't really have a particulary good reason for that. I don't have any really close friends that are gay (well, one of them is bi, but I think she likes guys more) and I don't have any relatives that are gay. And I have a thing for girls making out :D Guys making out, on the other hand, I'm just like, whatever. And I don't really see what's so great about penises. I really don't.
Ok, enough about the penis thing. Now onto why I'm a little nervous about it. First I'll say, I'm not worried about everyone leaving me. My friends are all for gay people. Except maybe Miranda, who I think's a homaphobe, but I don't count her, because I plan on not talking to her again. But I'm a little worried about my family. I think my parents would still love me and everything if I told them I was gay (but trust me, I do not plan on it), but they'd be kind of disappointed. I know they believe I'm going to go to a good college (well, I believe that part too), get married, and have children. And so far neither my aunt or my biological mom have gotten married and I'm the only kid my Bio mom's had, so my dad is looking forward to walking me down the aisle. Yeah, if Bush does the whole "gay people are't allowed to get married" thing (I'm not sure if it's legal or not. I know nothing about our laws :P ), it's not going to happen. even if gay people are definately, married when I'm old enough to marry, I'm sure the image would be less exciting to them if I had a bride instead of a groom. I know that my aunt and bio mom have kinda been let-downs to them, and I don't want to do the same thing.
Now, another problem. You seem I mentioned thinking my friend Christina is hot above. Well, I think I've got a crush on her. Might be more. I know I love her like a friend, but I don't know if I like her in a more than platonic way as well. She's straight (well, she did have a gf before, but she knows she's straight now), and she has a bf. And even if she wasn't, she wouldn't go out w*Lunabell because we've been best friends since 3rd grade, and she said she wouldn't go out w/most of her friends because it'd be weird or something like that.

very cool. (i can relate 2 where u said u have strong pro-gay feelings, but no huge reason 4 them, same here, i yell @ anyone who believes that gay people shouldnt b aloud 2 marry.)
well, i say that u...dont just pop it up on ur parents, like dont just come home and say "this is my girlfriend" and kiss her cuzz then they might just have a heart attack. lol, i say that u just sit them down and tell them that u want 2 tell them something, but you're afraid of their reaction, usually wen you show your parents how hard it really is 2 tell them, then they back off a little.
now, my parents would disown me or something, i dont doubt that 4 a second. but seeing as u said that u think they wouldnt, thats good.
good luck!!!
^_^
ooh! u should throw a "coming out" party, if u throw a party, people might b more relaxed 2 the fact.

wow! you're brave. good for you. :D If I came out in my town, I'd be attacked by the klan or something.
I think some girls are attractive, but for the most part I'm straight. I have kissed two girls though, and I think girls are better kissers than guys.

:D :D :D
thanks guys. So far the only person I've told is Carolyn (in real life), but telling her isn't really that scary, because I've known her forever, and also, half her friends are gay, and so are half her relatives.
I'm lucky cuz I've gotten to seen Christina naked a lot :D

I support you 100%. I have known a lot of people that have been bi or gay (females and males). A lot of them have not told their families yet. The ones that have just keep saying "Its a phase, they'll get over it." And, yes that is completely possible.
My theory is that you cant choice who you fall in love with. It could be a guy or a girl. Your allowed to be attracted to both (one more than the other if you choice). I know I am straight, but I know very well that I could fall for a girl if I met one that I felt was right for me.
If you ever do want to get married and your a gay couple and it isnt legal where you are come to Canada. I'm serious, it was just legalized. CANADA RULES!
A lot of guy guys are flirts. My guy friend from acting is 100% into men, but he flirts with all the girls. He even "did me up agains the wall once" - not literally, just pretend, because that is what he does.
Anyway, I would suggest just sitting your parents down and ttelling them. They may not even believe you at first. It will probably take them sometime to get use to. And, yeah you can have chids the old fashion way, BUT you can do the artifical insemination or adopt :)
My friend's mom is gay. She came out when my friend was 11. It was hard for her to get use to her mom being gay at first, but now she is completely find with it and HATES homophobs :P
GOOD LUCK. I"m here for any of you that need someone to talk to :)

My suggestion is leaving them a note on their pillow. That way, when they approach you about it, they will be rational and ready.

Its only legal in Massachusetts. Its still not legal in California. I think gay people can get a civil union or something like it, but its not the same as marriage. Not as many rights/benefits.
TinkerbeL - July 24, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
that sucks. is it like ever going to be legal elsewhere?
sydney - July 24, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)

thanks! now when I'm 18 I'll know to move there :D
Personally, marriage doesn't matter too much too me. I mean, I don't need an official thing saying I'm with some girl. But I do think it's stupid that everyone's supposed to have equal rights, but gay ppl cana't go into the military or get married.
believe24 - July 24, 2005 06:48 PM (GMT)
i get turned on byboth girls and boys, i wouldnt call myself bi, but, i mean, if i had the chance 2 kiss a really hott girl, i would, just like if i had the chance 2 kiss a really hott guy.
but i have a b/f.
Champagne_Dean - July 24, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
girls are just kind of naturally bisexual I think
Lunabell - July 24, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
There are a lot more hot girls I've seen than hot guys. I was looking for hot girl celebrities on the internet and I must've gotten a hundred pics. When I googled for hot celebrity guys long ago, I usually didn't get that many.
