Description: war in iraq

webmistress - January 19, 2005 01:20 AM (GMT)
yes, but it could have been done without all of the violence and bloodshed.

Soulz - January 19, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
Lol, yes, charge in with US soldiers and not expect bloodshed from a government driven to protect Saddam.

webmistress - January 19, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)

I have to agree with that because my whole family lives there and not to mention I was born there(I only lived there for 5 yrs. though) so I don't like seeing my own country being controlled..but the whole thing about Bush sending the military there in the first place wasn't exactly horrible because he got rid of Saddum and that's probably the only good thing that came out of it..there's no longer a communist society

Champagne_Dean - January 20, 2005 07:20 AM (GMT)
war is never ever an answer

TinkerbeL - January 20, 2005 07:44 AM (GMT)

Champagne_Dean - January 20, 2005 08:42 PM (GMT)
violence should never be an option

webmistress - January 21, 2005 01:15 AM (GMT)

TinkerbeL - January 21, 2005 09:14 AM (GMT)

athena - January 22, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
well we can wish..people can change

Karen - January 22, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
I voted for Bush, well, I didn't vote for him cause I'm still not aloud, but I supported him. Without stopping the violence in Iraq, the torture and evil-ness would've kept on going. I agree though that what he did was super wrong, going to Iraq like that.... :shakes head: I supported Bush because I didn't like Kerry, and they said that if Kerry won there was going to be a new terorist attack. All my parents are republicans, and so forth I'm obliged to follow their lead, but I really didn't like Bush or Kerry that much.

What pisses me off though, is that now that Bush won, some people are coming out and saying yeah, woo hoo bush won! while they voted for Kerry!!!

athena - January 22, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
they're such hypocrites..

webmistress - January 23, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)

arwenpotter - January 23, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)

webmistress - January 24, 2005 02:57 AM (GMT)
yes, he is replacing Colin Powell with Condaleeza Rice, and she'll do anything Bush says.

TinkerbeL - January 24, 2005 08:35 AM (GMT)
that just Sucks!

webmistress - January 24, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)

yes it is...

Soulz - January 26, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
but to place the topic back in focus, though an invasion of Iraq was not an answer most citizens liked, it was pretty much the only thing the conress could resort too.

Think about it, over 10,000 (more) lives died in one single day, and the Pentagon was almost destroyed had not the plane heading there been lucky to have some sacrificial heroics played out. Which also can support how the US knew about the 9/11 beforehand and it just so happens that very plane was the one stopped.

Now, after all those people die, Saddam was reported to be the one who caused it. If you were Bush, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

You can't just say, please give over Saddam, for that's what US did, but the government of Iraq refused. What then? You can't just say, Oh well, I guess there's nothing we can do about it, because that would not only be a bad political move it shows that US can be a big pushover. You can't continue to barter because the government already stated very clearly nothing would make them give up Saddam.

What other choice but war? you cannot postpone a decision because of politics and the fact that if you postpone what to do, it'll show weak leadership. So what can you do but war? That's the only option available at that time and now it's happened, so there's no going back.

Bush sucks though, so...

webmistress - January 26, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
good points, very good points....but I still think we should have had more of a plan before we went in...but wars never go smoothly, even if we had a better plan....

Champagne_Dean - January 26, 2005 07:06 AM (GMT)
its very contraversial

webmistress - January 26, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
Half the country is for Bush, half against him. In class today, the teacher said: Who likes Bush? and a majority raised their hands, and then only me and this other kid didn't, because everybody knows I'm anti -Bush.

Champagne_Dean - January 27, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
thats freaky

webmistress - January 27, 2005 10:57 PM (GMT)
We're all...brainwashed or something.

Soulz - January 28, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
Of course we're brainwashed. All our life we've been told and explained to why murder is wrong. But that's the majority view, and of course majority view can also be wrong. Maybe murder is the right thing to do, and that humans have been wrong about it all the time. Rape is wrong, but of course that's something that was taught to us since we're old enough to understand.

webmistress - January 28, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
I agree. If we had been taught murder and rape were right, we would probably be killing and raping people right now.

The media only tells us what the government wants them to.

Champagne_Dean - January 28, 2005 02:25 AM (GMT)
yeah, that kind of stuff is freaky to think about..its wrong because we're told its wrong, dont do that cuz its wrong...doing that is not good...etc....

webmistress - January 28, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
I think it's wrong. But if I had been taught that murder and rape were good, I would probably think differently. Which is kind of strange to think about...

Champagne_Dean - January 29, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
yeah it is funny....i know my ex its not that he believes in hitting kids, like abuse, but like a form of disapline. like if they do something bad a firm one smack on the bottom will teach them, cuz they will remember the pain. i dont really believe in hitting kids ever, but it does kind of make sense. kids are so young that they r more likely to remember pain and know not to do it again.

Phoebe Halliwell - January 29, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
I can't believe in that. Hitting is abuse, no matter what. Kids respond better when they think they have upset their parents. Hitting breeds life-long anger. The same thing happened with my Mom when she was a kid and she hasn't spoken to her Dad in many years. My parents never hit me and my sibs and we have a great relationship.
Hitting is a terrible parenting strategy. Its a quick fix resulting in life-long animosity. Operant conditioning (like hitting) and classical conditioning isn't my prefered way of teaching children. Plus, operant conditioning doesn't teach the kid accountability. They learn that the hitting was bad, so they try to find ways of avoiding the pain, not understanding their action that caused the pain.

webmistress - January 29, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
I agree with everything there!
