[blur=5]--Tîwele Elensar--[/blur]
A young Elf maiden from the Northern Wilderlands, Tîwele is the elder daughter of Lólindir, the proud King of Órelindë. Órelindë is yet a land in its youth, but Lólindir, an Elven King of great ambition, yearns for his realm to become great. Yet Tîwele is in mind completely different from her father, and often opposes her father’s wishes, often distancing herself from the kingdom she was born, and wandering abroad.
Liking to sit under the moonlight at night and watch the heavens, she is often referred to by her disapproving father as a ‘dreamer’, saying she would be unfit to inherit the rule of Órelindë when she grew older. To Tîwele, the majesty of Órelindë’s golden towers was an imprisonment, barred against the nature of the world outside, where she loved to roam free.
Tîwele is a lover of nature and all things that grow and cherish in the warmth of the sunlight. She dreams of a world that outlasts her own, beholding in awe every spring, waterfall or living thing she crosses in her path. She loves animals above all else, and sometimes feels she has the ability to speak to them. She has been separated from elves and other beings outside of Órelindë all her life, and only knows of the few Elves in her land. Apart from animals, she knows no other living beings, never having come across any during her brief wanderings.
Appearance~Tîwele’s hair flows like a river of molten gold, and is silver in starlight. She is tall, slender and fair.
Age~ Tîwele's exact age is unknown. She was born during the later years of the Third Age and is still considered young in Elven years. By the time of the Sauron's defeat, she was approximately 1000 years old.
Race~ She is akin to the Silvan Elves of Mirkwood and the Avari, of which the Moriquendi are her people's most hated enemies. Though akin, they are estranged, and their hatred towards the Dark Elves have not lessened through the dark wars and bitter conflicts of earlier ages. As a result of the mixing of bloodlines in her ancestors, she is distantly akin to the ancient Noldor.
---ÓRELINDË---
About the Land of Órelindë and the scattered Avari
The magnificent land of Órelindë was forged at the ending of the Second Age, during a period when it was believed that the One Ring had perished and lasting peace was once again restored in Middle-earth. Many Elves were largely scattered in confined areas, and the borders of their great realms were well protected. But at the time, there were also remnants of wandering Elves who lived still in the wild, in lush forests and mountainous areas.
These Elves knew little of their ancestry or kin, and were descendents of the Avari, the refusers who at the beginning had refused the Valar's passage into the West, but who had not turned to dark ways and were not among the Moriquendi. These obscure Elves had dwelt from the beginning as an unsettled people, who travelled from place to place, isolated from the Eldar of whom great deeds often would tell. These Avari never took part in the great wars of Arda, prefering not to be troubled by the happiness and woes of others, and their existence were not much recorded in history books. But they were a crafty people and skilled people, as were all Quendi, loved the art of sculpting and prided themselves in their writing, and the objects that they wrought. They befriended all living things in the quietness of their existence, and it was they who first tamed the trees, and sung to them, and when they had later moved to other parts, allowed the passage for the Eldar to befriend them and teach to them their languages, and the art of speech.
The tradition of speaking Noldorin Quenya that Tierhe (see 'Nomë nyérëo') brought to the people of the Avari lasted through the ages. Although they also retained some form of their former language, whose origins are now seldom remembered, they mostly spoke Quenya, a dialect which was for them a faint essence of the grace of Valinor, of which many of them would never see as long as their life lasted.
During the ending of the Second Age, when all evils were believed to have been vanquished, a large part of the Silvan Elves befriended those of the Avari. The Silvan Elves sought to unite the wandering Avari, who had never before settled in a permanent land in their niche of the world, never built though they possessed the skills, and never had reknown, for they had always passed unnoticed. Thus, Órelindë, the first kingdom of the Avari, was built, and it grew under the skills of these Elves for a short period. Tîwele's mother, Orva, was in origin a Silvan Elf.
When the shadow of the old evil was rumoured to have returned, these Elves hid their new founded Kingdom after the manner of Gondorin in the early ages of the world with such crafts as they possessed, and suffered none- allies or foes to enter everafter. In this way, they removed themselves once more from the threats and deeds of the free peoples as they had done since the beginning (with the exception of those few of the Noldor akin to Tierhe they had allied in the First Age).
In these times, only the rare few of the Silvan Elves knew of Órelindë's existence, and they faithfully denied knowledge of where the entrance to the hidden kingdom lay. It was excluded from maps made during the War of the Ring, and its people were thus not troubled by what roamed outside their borders, believing the guard of their city to be strong.
Only after the defeat of Sauron, and the promise of renewed peace and prosperity bloomed once more, did Órelindë restablish itself and ease its guard. It became the land it was in its earliest days, and lived on as the first kingdom of the Avari and one of the last known Elven Kingdoms left East of the sea after the Third Age.
