Well, to make RPging a bit easier, it would be good to have a thred dedicated to the introduction of your RPg character. You can tell what their age is, their race, their past or any other important detail you need. That way, if someone if RPing with you, they can refer here to learn a bit more about your character.

I shall start us off, I guess.

Name: Gide. She goes by the alias Belothien
Height: About 5'6
Sex: Female
Race: Dark Elf
Weapon of choice: Sword, though she does use a bow when needed
Age: 1005

If you don't want to ruin it, and you would rather imagine what she looks like in your head, then I shall describe her, though the discription differs from my pic. She is tall and thin, and usually cloaked in black. Her eyes are dark, and her skin very pale. Her lips are also dark. Her hair is dark and flowing. She has a few earrings in her ears, mainly the tops of them. She has a blacck cape with purple and blood red colored lining.
History: She was born in Lothlorien. At the age of 100 her parents were killed while they were on a journey to Minas Tirith. Gide was left to defend for herself. She stayed at home a lot, and became a rebelious to the authority in Lothlorien. She destroyed many things by accident, and caused a lot of trouble there. When she turned 500, she went looking for a new power to have. She didn't like just being an elf. So she became an apprentice for a dark elf. She learned quickly from him, and could now teach anyone she pleased. She decided to leave Lorien at around the age of 900, and began looking for a new home. She found a nice forest somehwhere to rest a bit. At 950, her Dark ELf master decided that he was going to leave Middle Earth. Before he left, he gave Gide a Black Rose that would never die. Now, Gide felt alone somewhat. She went back to her home and has been there ever since. She is often out of her home, looking for an adventure, and hoped to find one. Her past is something she tries to keep hidden on the inside so no one knows of it. She is also looking for love, or somone to love her as her parents loved each other before they died.

Well, thats my character. Now, you can introduce yours, and we all will know each others characters a little bit better.

I like your character ;) She sounds like she has an interesting past. Is she by any chance... evil?

Okay, that sounds good. So now that my character has been introduced and going to sit around and wait for an RPG to be opened so I can post in it without intruding on anyone elses stories.

To answer your question...She can be evil when she wants to be. On the most part she is good and runs with the good crowd, but sometimes when she in angry, her evil side shows.

For the most part, I actually think everyone has an evil side :rolleyes: It just depends on whether or not things trigger it to show. If someone's completely good and pure, it gives them more of an angelic presence... Though elves on the other hand (unless they're dark elves), they're just not mortals to start with, so I just don't know... And that's another thing that's puzzled me- what are dark elves? I've only come across one (in the Silmarillion. Eol, I think his name was), and I've come across them mentioned in battle games, and in a lot of other places. I usually associate them with lotr and that's what they're usually associated with, but do they have another source? Because if they are, I can understand that, but lotr-wise, I just don't get it. Are they a race (because they're treated like one!), or just Elves corrupted, as I think they are? Just trying to voice some of my puzzlements there, I'm not entirely show it makes sense though :S

On your part about intruding into other stories, you won't be intruding in stories by joining a thread. I think your character would be pretty welcome in any of the RPs. Of course, if not, then there are also other 'not-yet-created' roleplays, an empty one, and then there's the option of creating your own, either straightaway, or creating a thread about it in the Prancing Pony :)

He has two lives because I wasn't sure if the RP he's in so far is in the Second or Fourth age. Remember the confusion? Ok, triple life, read on to find out!

Dark elves... When the race of elves was first born they were invited by the Valar to Valinor to see the light of the Two Trees. Those who made the journey are the Calaquendi, elves of light, and those who didn't start the journey or turned aside are the moriquendi (morquendi?) the dark elves. It's in the first few chapters of the Silmarillion.

Belothien... I love your charactor! She'd be welcomed by me in Athéniel Egleriannen's RP, if it's OK with Athéniel. Or in the Path of the Ring, 'my' RP. Kestrar doesn't trust people he doesn't know, it's nothing personal if they don't get along at first!

I've got a lot more about Kestrar now, but he's really not from Middle Earth at all, I stole the name from some of my other writing (life number 3). His ME self is getting a background, albeit slowly!

Well, to answer your question, I really don't know if they are from LOTR or not. They are a race, I believe, though I'm not too sure. I just know that dark elves do exist somewhat. I sort of made my character not really following any set rules of what a character can and cannot be, you know? I sort of just made her. She is a corrupted elf, you are correct about that. But really, I'm not sure if their a set race or not. Dark elves are jsut elves that arn't very angelic anymore, you know? At least, thats how mine is...

I'll have to check some RP's out then...see if I can sqeeze into an RPG...
