Title: Meren Morelen
Description: Wicked to the Core

Erelith - February 23, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
Name: Meren Morelen

Gender: Male

Race: Moriquendi

Family: Father – Maeldun, Mother – Maeve, Brother – {Twin} Morholt, Meren’s wife – Élaine {Erelith’s Mother}
Beyond that: Maeve's parents are Amulius and Aine.

Age: Born in the year 666 of the first age, death by his own kin in the year 2942 of the Third Age. Meren ‘wedded’ Élaine in 870 of the Second Age, and produced his offspring {Erelith} in the winter of 1600 of the Second Age before her mother’s death.

Appearance: Meren has a stark contrast to his appearance of Erelith. The two look nothing alike, however, with the exception of one thing in common. The only way you would ever tell they were related {Appearance-wise}: Both Erelith and Meren have the same, brooding black eyes. With that in mind, Meren has the hair to match. It’s long, thin, and flows down his backside with a bit of a wisp to it. The tone of his flesh is almost an unnatural pale, ghostly color. He can be seen clad in long red and black robes, lined with gold inlay around the edges. Often he relies on his seemingly ‘innate abilities’ of sorcery {imbued by Sauron} to protect him better than any sheet of metal over his heart. His ears are pointed and slender, somewhere to the point they seemed to have been twisted between elves, and orc-like. If he does smile, it’s a wicked one, and the only other emotions Meren will portray it seems it that of malice. His appearance overall seems to have been twisted slightly, as were the earlier elves taken and twisted by the evil powers of the Dark Lord. Not completely however, Meren is still distinguishable underneath it all.

Personality: Meren in his present state is completely consumed with the power he’s gained. He will stop at nothing to get to Erelith before she brings his demise. It seems he will do everything and just about anything to spite anyone who crosses his path, even if they have never caused any wrong doings against him. He gets complete satisfaction out of exposing someone’s weaknesses and causing them to be vulnerable, picking away at anything he gets his hands and pushing that person beyond the limit of endurance to such abuse. Malice and hatred has consumed him blindly, and it’s done so much damage to Meren it’s unlikely he could ever see past it now.

History: Long Ago, a curse was laid upon the Morelen line that if Maeve ever did bear a child, it would be cursed. Though Maeldun and Maeve were considerate of the fact their families had made bitter enemies with each other, the pair were deeply in love. With this knowledge, Aine, Maeve’s mother placed a curse on the line that if she was to bear any child, they would cause her as much grief as the two had caused their own families. Maeve found this out when the pair had secretly married, and in anger fled with Maeldun against Aine’s will, keeping the secret from her husband.

During the spring of 666 in the first age, Maeve, wife to Maeldun gave birth to a pair of twins. Morholt came first, being oldest of the house of Morelen, and Meren second in birth. Maeldun and Maeve never bore any other children other than the two twins, and Morholt and Meren were in constant rivalry against each other. It was more so Meren’s part in this that ended up causing his brother’s death. The first born of the Morelen line would inherit every thing worth its value from their parents, and it seemed his brother got everything he wanted while Meren had a constant struggle to keep in the eye of his own parents. Often he felt shoved aside, out of sight, while things came easy to Morholt. At long last, Meren had felt enough of it, becoming enraged and jealous when Morholt decided to settle down with Élaine. He murdered his brother in cold blood, in jealousy on the night of his wedding. Being completely identical, Meren posed as Morholt and took Élaine as his wife. He fled with her soon after she realized who she had laid with on the night of her wedding was not Morholt, taking Élaine into captivity. Little did he know what lay ahead.

Élaine knew of the curse, and cried out to Meren when she found she was with his child. Enraged of not knowing this sooner, he attempted to take the life of Erelith before she was even out of Élaine’s womb. She fled and escaped Meren’s rage until she could give birth to Erelith. Though the pursuit of them both was long winded, Élaine fell back in captivity of Morholt’s twin, only this time with her daughter. The life of her mother was short lived after that, having hardly seen her Erelith would not be able to distinguish that her mother had left, permanently. At such a young age as well, and with such a long life span, Erelith would not come to remember this in her later years. Out of foresight and madness he murdered Élaine when she was with Meren’s second child, hardly wishing to double the chances of his demise. He kept his only daughter locked away half the time, lower than any of his own servants to keep her from doing any harm. In the case Erelith did escape from his hands again, Meren burned a detailed shape of a raven symbol onto her left shoulder. {The symbol of the Morelen line}

I knew he was accursed XD He's a crazed, murderous maniac. What did anyone ever do to him? :angry:
What did you change, though? (very curious) I didn't get to read it before you editted the bio.

I had to change it because I realized I didn't go back far enough in the lineage to make it so Meren was cursed, it was only so that it was Erelith who was cursed. :P No worries, you missed nothing - all I had to do was add to it.

On a side note, Erelith knows nothing of all that cursed stuff. Meren knows, and Erelith will find out soon. I should probably drop a little spoiler here: Meren will be captured and brought to Rivendell by Gandalf on one of his trips to Amon Lanc. However, seeing Phaustas is working from the inside - Meren shouldn't be staying long at all. Erelith will find out though. =(
