Title: Pyrrhus'terah
Description: Female Twi'lek - Star Wars

Erelith - July 30, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Pyrrhus’terah
Pyrrhus {PI-rus} Terah {TEE-ra} Pyrrhus’terah

Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Presumed Twi’lek

Her captors call her by the alias of Vixen, making sure her true name and identity is lost to the rest of the world, and making sure it brings little hope to Pyrrhus'terah. Once a respected Jedi, Pyrrhus is presumed dead after her capture in war. Sold into bondage, she finds little hope of escape on the planet of Corratos.

History:
Pyrrhus can barely remember her family, let alone her home planet. She was, unknowingly at the time, taken prisoner as a young child and parted from any family connections. Most of her own history seems a blur to her, but by the young age of five she was granted freedom. Displaying an advent will to survive surpassing others, and the eye of a quick learner, Jedi took her under their wing in training.

So with that, Pyrrhus grew into adolescence under the Jedi order, proving her worth. Her thoughts turned little to the family she lost early in her years as a child, always looking ahead rather than behind. She need not be taught the dangers of attachment, for the Twi’lek the lesson had already been taught well in her earlier years of imprisonment. For Pyrrhus, she excelled in no particular Jedi gift, except that of a strong-spirited fighter. She was entrusted to undertake tasks along with her mentor in her later adolescence, and the young Twi'lek proved to cheat death more than once. During the ongoing wars however, she was lost to the Jedi and it was presumed death finally caught up with Pyrrhus’terah. Due to this as well, Pyrrhus has known little of anything gone on outside of the news she overhears from others. She never did complete her training as a Jedi, and for this lacks the capacity to fully realize her potential.

Weapons:
A lightsaber with an almost golden amber color to it, with a curved hilt to give Pyrrhus more speed in combat, however the Twi’lek is already naturally quick in battle.

Friends:
Sadly, she considers herself to have little friends, finding her need for attachment too overpowering at times. This is due to the fact she has grown up never knowing the true feelings of love toward even her own kind, and for this she prefers to stay alone. Pyrrhus works alright in groups as well, but it takes a bit to convince her to go along, even being one for any sort of adventure. She smiles little as well, outsiders often mistaking this for unhappiness, causing a slight unease around her. For those who know her well, this merely shows her pensive and often intellectual mood.

Family:
It is unknown to Pyrrhus her original birth family, but cares little to know where she came from. It is presumed she is Twi’lek by birth due to her appearance, but some question it due to some outward traits not common with this race. Unaware to Pyrrhus, she does have two elder brothers.

Appearance:
Pyrrhus has a rare coloring for her race. Her flesh tone is almost crimson red, with a vibrant orange hue to it. Upon first glance it seems that this female only has two head tails, but at a closer look one can note that she has four, even more of an uncommon feature amongst her own kind. Pyrrhus separates the four and binds them to illusion as two, as not to attract the odd look of others. Each head tail fades down into a dark, almost black colored amber and have black markings, almost tribal-looking down the inside of all. Normally prized for their gracefulness and beauty, on the surface Pyrrhus appears not to lack either. Once she begins to walk, it’s a bit of another story, however. This Twi’lek has very little luck, often getting stuck into one mess from another. Pyrrhus also has an assortment of piercings’ ranging from her ears to various other places. She stands rather short, not past five foot five, and has a slim, though not overly toned frame to her body. As for her weapon of choice, she has none – using what comes to mind at that particular moment in time, depending on the situation. She does own a lightsaber, as mentioned above. Since her imprisonment however, it was lost to her. Her colored features blend nicely with her attire, being completely black and lined in gold fabric. Her robes are black, and though she has a slot for her saber near the right side of her waist it is empty as of late.

Other:
This Twi’lek is a refined fighter for one of her age, a great ability to survive when the odds pile against her. She has a way of getting in and out before anyone even becomes aware of her presence. Pyrrhus knows her training well, but never sticks to any form – using whatever works at that given moment to get her out of a sticky situation. She believes herself to be creative, and intellectual at her best, and at her worst she is often untrusting and pessimistic. This is a side that is rarely shown by the female Twi’lek openly, unless caught in a moment. Though life may pass by quickly for her, she still takes time to notice even the simplest beauty of things. Her eye is naturally observant, noting her surroundings with detail even when simply passing by. For this, she has a remarkable ability for memory. She’s known for pulling dangerous stunts, and putting herself in danger as well as others. She’s quick to learn the behaviors of strangers and analyze the outcome of each choice quickly on any given task, proving to be a value on missions.

Personality:
Between the conditioning of the Twi’lek race, they are known to be submissive. It would appear so for Pyrrhus at first glance, but she will not openly show her intentions in front of others unless need be. Appearing docile, this Twi’lek has a highly passive aggressive nature, taking down opponents in complete silence, and cleanly. Her temper flares just as red as her features, though she keeps her own self in constant check. This trait was noted quickly when sold into constant imprisonment, no master willing to take her no more than a week. Horrid with luck at times, and often seeming to trip over her own feet half the time, Pyrrhus seems to turn on a different switch in her mind when she’s in combat. She’s a fast and effective fighter, wasting little time moving from one opponent to the next. Her mind thinks outside the box when it comes to solving problems – even if they might seem like completely ridiculous solutions. She’s a bit out there, but none the less entertaining to be around when she find company. Pyrrhus has a witty sense of humor, using riddles and sarcasm to their best. She prides herself in exploiting the attraction most have to the Twi’lek race, if she can gain from it in some form. This Twi’lek knows not how to hold her tongue, and it’s assured she will always tell the truth, no matter the harsh reality. Pyrrhus uses logic over all other form of reasoning to defeat others in verbal battle, usually tangling them in their own words rather easily. She seems to have a tough exterior, but down inside, sometimes deep down, she has a compassionate nature. Her heart is in the right place, though it may not seem like it at times Pyrrhus has a naturally selfless nature.

**{Let me know if I need to change anything, I probably do.}
* You know, I randomly saw Carratos in this galaxy map
{ http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b1/Galaxymap1.jpg } and I was like 'Hm, wonder if I can make her captive there,' because it was close. Go figure I pick the best one! Dumb luck, seriously. I guess it has the most crime around. Haha, I can't believe how random that turned out.

Nice charrie :yesnod:
I suppose I should take the chance to mention puzzling spots (because, you know me, I always do >.<). Does Pyrrhus remember her past as a Jedi? 'Cause you know, in many cases, if you put a slave-driver, whom I will always imagine to be either a Hutt or an outrageous looking bumbling fool, thanks to Ep VI, against a former Jedi apprentice... the slave-driver gets fried XD

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but I don't think it's 'possible' to loose a Jedi in the normal sense. They don't physically lose contact with each other, because they can feel each other in the Force. So they would always feel Pyrrhus' presence, unless she truly died, and they would feel that too, so they would know. The only other way to lose her, apart from her actually dying, would be by her turn to the dark side, in which case the Jedi can no longer tell whether she's dead or alive because they can't tap into the dark side. Unless, of course, they completely abandoned her for some reason. I know of only one instance when they've done that to someone, but I'm not sure why yet *frowns*. Besides which, a Master would never abandon a Padawan unless there was a very good reason.

Last thing... when, in terms of timeline with regard to RP, is she 'lost'?

I blab too much, don't I? I realli shouldn't, but I wanted to point those things out, just so you know XD

Hm, well I'm not sure, I was thinking possibly amnesia for this character because, well, that alone would be really interesting to put her through. Regaining memories and such....but I was thinking if that happened, perhaps she could have lost her 'touch' {now not knowing she was ever in training} for using the force. Is that even possible?

At any rate, I think whatever caused her to dissapear will have also caused her amnesia. My only problem being now is: How do I get her back into 'civilization'? {I mean back with the people who know her and such.} I think it would be a very interesting concept if something happened where she had woken from it, and was told she was a totally different person than she actually was - would they forgive her for not knowing any better {being on the dark side} about things? It would prove interesting too, if the place she had been captured was your destination, giving a little edge or something on it to know it's surroundings. *shrugs* I come up with the most random brainstorming ideas. I'm seriously just pulling things out of my @ss here, because I don't know jack about Star Wars - not really.

Though I did watch Revenge of the Sith the other day.

Edit: Does that seems at least, semi-plausible? Whatever {which I haven't figured out yet} 'accident' occurs Pyrrhus is injured to the point it causes amnesia? Perhaps she certain events could occur to make her feel 'disturbed' enough to leave Carratos?...or wherever I decide to place her. Wow, I stink at this.

Oh, and this is kind of how I pictured her. {Kinda.} I had to do a crap-job photoshopping some of it though. I'm not sure if I wanna give her two head tails or four.

Yea, amnesia sounds like a plausible idea ;) I'm not sure how she would get injured, but it has to be pretty bad, because she was a Jedi, so she would know how to heal herself and have improved chances of survival. How about... the fact that it is... an emotional injury? Just an idea ^^ That drew inspiration from my character ^_^

would they forgive her for not knowing any better {being on the dark side} about things?

Not sure what you would mean, but if she did go to the dark side, they would maybe forgive her, but more would regret the fact, then be forced to murder her, so, erm... The other thing is, as a very wise Jedi once said: 'If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny,' so if she turns to the dark side, there is rarely any turning back, and she would probably become a dark Jedi. Or worse, a Sith. eeeeeek.

So how I understand it is that you're saying she's suffering from amnesia, somehow turns up on Coruscant, teams up with the other characters on the Roleplay somehow, then gets captured again when they all get to Felucia?
If that's the case, what do you say my character Leri befriends her? (Picking up strays, you know ;)) Then later, Pyrrhus convinces them to take her along with them as they are about to leave Coruscant (so that the Jedi Council don't know)? Shakiah would give Leri a hard time about it if that happened, though >.< (It would be something like, 'DEFYING the Council??! Think again, missie.' *cackles*)

Even though she might be suffering from amnesia, she will still have force powers, because she always will be force-sensitive, regardless of her status. Some beings are, some aren't. They're born with it, so it can never be taken away. So, you know, we'll understand when people go, 'uh oh, untrained force-sensitive person here, keep an eye on her' when Pyrrhus random flings rocks around for fun. (Maybe that'd be a testament that she forgets her training because Jedi never use the Force for trivial things. Well, most of them ^^)

That's funny, I was watching Revenge of the Sith the other day, too. Just the start, though. Then my sister came home and stole the TV =( *wails*

Edit: Ooh, almost forgot. LOVE the picture <3 I think two headtails are good, but that's up to you.

Okay, well it was merely an idea {amnesia} I didn't exactly WANT to do that, but I was too stupid to suggest emotional injury, because I had previously thought of it {but had little idea how or if that could come about for a Jedi.} Again, lack of knowledge here. I think I would enjoy that more, haha, because if it were an emotional injury of some sort {that would affect her use of power, right?} she would be potentially aggravated with herself for not being able to use the force. XD ...ahah. I could see it now.

Athéniel Egleriannen - August 6, 2006 12:56 PM (GMT)
Ok, well, I guess you’ll just have to dream up what caused this emotional injury of hers, then. I was actually suggesting before the fact that this emotional injury was the cause of her amnesia. Because mere emotional injury is able to be healed a considerable amount. I should take this chance to let you know that they do all sorts of spiritual things in their training. They go into healing trances and meditation, and the Force? I’ve always linked it to that energy force we draw ‘power’ from when we’re sleeping, like how we can pull energy through ourselves (you’re the one who first gave me insight into these things!)… but in our ‘world’, our ‘version of the Force’ is more subtle, I think, ie. we can’t do telekinesis with it. What a shame! >.<

Went off on a tangent there *grins*. So I’m still suggesting amnesia happens as a result, because strictly speaking, because Jedi are trained precisely to combat emotional strain as well as physical, she will recover if amnesia doesn’t result. If she does develop amnesia though, she won’t remember her training to be able to heal herself of that emotional injury, do you get me?

I guess the only thing that needs figuring out now is how on earth they lost track of her. Oooh, I know! You know how lots of Jedi have specialties? Special talents they nurture? (Leri’s is healing) Pyrrhus’ could be opting for a more wide understanding of the Force. So she might want to contemplate and meditate heaps, and self-teach herself, without the knowledge of her master, how to shield herself from others before it’s fully taught to her. So, able to reduce her presence from the Force, she might pass undetected anywhere she wants… (that would be pretty rebellious of any apprentice, you know. She would have to have A VERY GOOD REASON ^^) and be presumed dead. Later after suffering amnesia, she might be reduced to a bare presence in the force instead of a flare, and be detectable but unrecognisable by those who know her. How does that sound? Dun know why she would want to conceal herself, though. But you might :)

PS. You know, if you were ever only to read one single book to get the tinsiest bit more idea of the Star Wars galaxy, I might suggest you read ‘Shatterpoint’ by Matthew Stover. I <3 the philosophical stuff in there. It’s definitely one of the more decent books, and one of my faves ;) The start of ‘The Cestus Deception’ also gives you a good idea of how the Jedi Council works, and descriptions of Coruscant (many of them do) ^^

Okay then, so when {or however your character comes about picking mine up, have we decided that yet?} Pyrrhus is picked up, what's gonna happen with her amnesia and other such injuries? Bwahah, this will be interesting to say the least. She will be incompetant for the most part, but that's alright...at least she's capable of combat. So, it'll be like me in essence, not a darn clue what the hell is going on, hah.

Athéniel Egleriannen - August 11, 2006 11:57 AM (GMT)
Ok then, I'll wait for your post to come along about she's doing at the moment, maybe wandering aimlessly along the streets (Wonder how she got there in the first place? That made me think, 'hm, hitched a ride on a random ship?')... Then I'll continue my 'tale' ;)
I suppose we can figure out all the loose ends (like all the stuff in my previous post) as we go ^^

Erelith - October 20, 2006 10:57 PM (GMT)
Haha you're probably thinking 'Now why did she post here?' well, I feel bad for not posting in such a long time, but on a brighter note! *clears throat and continues* I believe I have thought of an emotional injury Pyrrhus could have, along with her "amnesia" ....actually, amnesia kind of goes hand and hand with it.

It's called PTSD or Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder. :) It comes about when someone experiances betrayal, the loss of a loved one, or some other traumatic event (ex. miscarriages) that completely disrupts the brain causing them to repress memories and completely have amnesia. BWAHAH.

Wow, why do I love seriously messing my characters up?

On a really random note, I'm celebrating Halloween this year. Guess what I'm gonna be?

Erelith. B)

Athéniel Egleriannen - October 21, 2006 06:22 AM (GMT)
AWESOME. Because... I'm probably celebrating halloween too *grins* I haven't done that for 2 years. We dont usually celebrate Halloween in Oz, but one of my friends is 'American', and lives on an odd street. So we happen to turn up there now and again all dressed up-- the people there love it. On year we got a whole lot of passionfruit on a random trick or treat outing. I wish my character was evil >.< I could dress up as Almárean XD

PTSD sounds good ^_^ Someone she cares for could have died of something. Speaking of Betrayal, have you seen the new series out? (Legacy of the Force) Supposedly so much dark stuff and betrayal (hence the name) is in that opinions aren't one-sided.

I've been waiting for you to post for ages :oddlook: I still have the moment where my charrie meets yours in my head-- don't let me loose it B)

PS. One last thing. I hadn't noticed till now, funny that, but do you know what your character reminds me of? Have you heard of the new comic series (I havent seen it out here yet), sw legacy that jumps ahead 100 years into the future, they have this Twi'lek Sithwho looks like Pyrrhus, all tattooed and... bizarre.
