What would happen if Gollum had been killed along the way, and was not there when Frodo claimed the Ring for himself? Was Sam still able to stop him… Did he have the power to? What would have happened if no one stopped Frodo claiming the Ring?

We’ll need Frodo, Sam, Sauron, at least one of the Ringwraiths, maybe Gwaihir or one of the eagles, Gandalf, and as much of the fellowship as we have people for.

Ok, sounds good! I'll play. Do we really need a Sauron, because he doesn't do anything really but watch. Just my idea, have him if you want to. I think we need the people involved in the Crack of Doom and the Black Gates.

sounds cool... but the major decision needs to be made before we pick characters doesnt it? ie, what actually happens (to detemin who we need....???)

Yeh, that sounds reasonable. Do we want to decide what happens first or just go along with it when it comes? I think we should start at Mt Doom, for starters. And I was thinking of Sauron being one of the characters, because it does involve him. He does become affected, and remember, he does have a voice so he can 'talk'. We could of course, make the Ring itself a character instead of Sauron. It has a 'voice'.
Of the others in the fellowship, I think Gandalf and Aragorn are the most important, so they should be in it definitely.
(and i was just thinking, because i just saw rotk again, but i never got why Sauron showed Aragorn that Arwen was dying in the Palantir. I never got how he knew about Arwen in the first place. We could involve Arwen in some way to explore that... or maybe not. What do you guys think?)

hey cool idea.. i'll join in if thats okay!?! i thought Sauron knew about Arwen because he was watching over that area, as he looks on all the lands.. although thinking about it i'm not too sure.. but we can do something linked to Aragorn, Arwen and Sauron like you said-i think it is quite a good idea..
hmm.. yeh.. the idea of allowing the ring to 'talk' is good, though the ring does seem to speak in the films.. you can hear it faintly and its quite eerie... but that would work really well..
