I heard from various people (and sites) that it wasn't the Hobbit (noooooooooooooooooo....) I read that he was going to go on to make some movie about Gallipoli and the ANZACs, and probably a few more projects, which could take several years, before moving onto the Hobbit. As far as i know, he might not even have the rights yet. <_<
Anyone know?

I've heard he's doing some WW1 movie like he always wanted to.
Yeh, Gallipoli was in WW1 B) It could take awhile...
He's been trying to get rights for the Hobbit for some time now, but there's a hold up. I haven't been able to find out what the problem is - other Hobbit films have been done before, after all. I would LOVE to see the Hobbit done. Especially since several of the actors have said that they would be willing to come back and possibly play some of their ancestors. With that and Peter Jackson's brilliant directing - the movie would be awesome!
It definitely will be B) From the impression I got, someone's not willing to hand over to him the rights <_< In the end, it will be made, even ten, twenty years later or so, because everyone's protests will get through :) But we can't possibly wait that long...
But no doubt it might be well worth the wait, considering lotr, and it'll be unlike the other hobbit films, as it'll be PJ (I hope) directing. I saw the earlier animated one they made, it made me laugh :D
