Does anyone else own/love/ride horses?? I'll save details of mine for later.

Me me me! Even if I don't own any, and I can barely ride- it would help if there were any places to do that where I live!- I've wanted to buy a big block of land in the more roomy suburbs where there's a place to have horses, and that's since I first rode. The horse i rode i got attached to, even if i did only ride him about twice. He was speckled, name was Brandy, I never saw him again, but that was two years ago. I havent had the chance to ride since! If I could go on a protest for the local council to build some stables or riding oval near by, I would! What type of horses do you have?

well... i had horse ridding lessons for about three years, and i was never very good at it, although i loved it so much... every holiday me and my mum would go ridding and it was fun... eventually i gave up the ridding (it was exensive!) but went to help out at the stabbles (they gave you free ridding lessons) but eventually 7 am every saturday morning got to me and i gave up that as well... we still go on holiday but its not the same.
i rode a horse called goldie. (hense the name goldrider-- i know its not anymore...) and then he got too old and was sent away and i was heart broken. thats the moment i really decided i was going to give it all up.
anyway, thats my story. i love horses, but im not great with them. i'll stick to lookin after my cat. :)

Wow, looks like everyone here likes horses :)
I always wondered why the name goldrider came from, btp. Now I know. I liked it :D

theres a story behind every name...
or at least most of them i think...

Yeh, I think that’s true, however un-story-ish :P. Primmy was my hobbit name. Even that has a history. To make it simple as possible, she was (I say she was!) a hobbit from Nobottle in the far regions of the Shire, and loved picking strawberries. Atheniel I made up, but was first the description of my inner-self, now it’s the name of one of my ‘split personalites’ :D, me, my diary, and my inner-self. How strange. Egleriannen is apparently a description of what my actual life name means, or says. There’s the very exciting story of my names. But I’m getting off topic. Where were we? Ah yes, horses…

Egleriannen- glorified?? Sindarin??
I just spent all weekend at the RAF horseriding championships! It was really good fun. 'my' team scooped most the prizes!

Yeh, think Egleriannen's Sindarin. In fact, the entire name is. It does mean something like glorified.
Congrats on your team :) I dont know much about horse riding championships and stuffs as there are none that i know of, so i've no idea how it works... Except that maybe you compete with your horses?

I used to ride when I was younger, western when I was really young. I forgot the name of the mare I used to ride. She was sweet though, pretty too. (pure white.) When I got older I asked the woman down our street if she wanted to teach me hwo to ride in turn for mucking out the stalls. (I don't mind it. I get to spend time with the horses too...lol, even though I did get mad at them half the time. I'd just be done with two hours or so of mucking the stalls out and they'd come right back in an crap in them. GRR. Made me so mad.) The horse I rode then was called Desperado, hm, I can't remember his breed. I know it was part quarter horse, and something else. He had awesome colors <3 His feet faded from a buckskin color to pitch black, and his mane and tail were black as well..and his soft nose ^_^
I learned english on him, and now it's the only way I remember how to ride >_< I want a horsie of my own.
