Title: My created realm...
Arwen_Undomiel - June 6, 2005 10:49 PM (GMT)
Suilad! In this thread, I'd like to introduce my newly created world and race. The world is called Eoravia and its lands are much like that of Middle-Earth. Eoravia was first inhabited by gruesome creatures much like orcs (I haven't yet found a suitable name for them!). These creatures lived underground and in caves like savages; eating raw meat, lapping up water from dirty streams like cur. But they are not the only race I am introducing. The new race I created are called Raelir. They are much like Elves, but have taller ears and uncommonly colored eyes like violet and gold. Their closeness with nature is so intense that the sun, clouds and anything that grew would react to their emotions. Because the Raelir were so kind-hearted, weather in Eoravia was always pleasant and comfortable.
Well, that's what I have so far. I'll continue to update this thread as I develop Eoravia and the Raelir. Navaer!

Wow, awesome creation so far, I like it :)
Belothien - June 7, 2005 07:15 PM (GMT)
Sounds awsome! Can't wait to RPg in this realm sometime, maybe.
King Bard - June 7, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
I like the idea that you have so far. Maybe we could all add ideas to expand Eoravia (races, cities, places, ect.). It is just a thought.
Gil_Galad22 - June 9, 2005 10:22 AM (GMT)
Wow, we've got to start RP in this land! Let us know when you've developed it a bit. I'll be thinking on my Raelir charactor. Is it Raeli in the singular? (too much experience of Quenya- 1 Noldo, race of Noldor, 1 Sindi, race of Sindir;) )
Athéniel Egleriannen - June 14, 2005 12:02 PM (GMT)
Hope you keep expanding this world xD ... Aren't the Grey Elves the Sindar? I don't know, but Sindir doesn't sound strikingly familiar
Gil_Galad22 - June 15, 2005 10:58 AM (GMT)
Yes. Think of the Quenya word for Gray.
Athéniel Egleriannen - June 15, 2005 11:09 AM (GMT)
As far as I know, grey in Quenya is Sindë or Sinda, and the plural for 'Sinda' would be Sindar. But it still works, you add -r to all of them
Gil_Galad22 - June 15, 2005 11:23 AM (GMT)
Probably a typo, you're right. I just checked in the Sil.
Anyway, let us know when you have developed this world. I'd love to RP there, if it's OK with you, Arwen!
Arwen_Undomiel - July 18, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
Oh, thank you all! I haven't really been working on it lately, but now I have a motive! Sorry, I haven't been ably to get on recently because sometimes this site generates an error. But now, my computer is in a good mood! :P I'll continue my idea tonight and update this tomorrow if I come up with anything.
Arwen_Undomiel - July 18, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
Um, I suppose Reali could be the singular form. I hadn't really thought about it. I guess when I thought of the name I expected it to be like fish; it could go both ways. Realirs sounds funny, but Reali and Realir could both work for the singular form.

Oi. I've been hesistant to post this topic yet. I want to make a real book out of it, or perhaps just a short story. It's going to sound somewhat stupid but the inspiration was from a dream I had. (and I never remember dreams. Ever...) Anyways, I suppose the world I dreamt about started out like any other fantasy realm, mythical creatures left and right. They inhabited just about every corner of the world known. There wasn't (as far to my knowledge) any sort of war between races, only the small petty arguments I suppose. Over time humans began to build and expand, starting to over-populate the place. All 'mythical' creatures alike began to grow small in numbers, and some nearly extinct. The skin of certain magical creatures were worth quite alot, or even better - bringing them alive. Humans found them to be threatening, and wanted them removed. Finally, there was some sort of council held - one creature represented their species in it. There were Satyrs - Mermaids, Elves, both dark elves and regular ones. Faeries of course, and centaurs. (Can't remember all of them.) Everyone agreed for the safety of everyone it would be best to either go into hiding, or if we could - blend into the human race. Live average normal lives, as if there was nothing unordinary about us. (because apparantly we had the power to rid ourselves of our true form. Sort of as an illusion - but not without certain circumstances. Such as mermaids turning into their true form once a month/week when they hit the water. They can control it, so they don't become human all together.) So of course, we all ended up blending in with humans. Magical creatures became nothing more than myth and legend after the years passed - but any child born out of a magical/human relationship would possess odd characteristics relating to the magical 'gene' they had in them. (There was some way to sort of activate it, without my overall 'plot' to the dream. Probably when they turned of age, something would've happened.) Lol, I was actually in the dream, not just watching it, but I'm not going to say what I was. It's too odd, for me anyways. (My boyfriend was in it as well as his family, but as humans.) We were engaged to be married, and before we did - I wanted to be truthful with him, and showed him I wasn't exactly human. He actually took it well, had no complaints - accepted me as I was. I explained why I did it, and why everyone was doing it. His sister came out and we thought it was okay to show her, but instead she just sort of widened her eyes and shouted for her father to come out. I tried drying myself off (it was raining) to erm, get it to go away I guess you could say, before anyone came out. I did so, but she kept screaming about it and so I gave one look at my boyfriend and ran before the 'police' got there. It started raining harder, so of course I began to get soaked, and uhm, went back to the way I was. I don't know how that exactly works, but I had to crawl as fast as I could back to the water, or ocean or whatever it was and hide. (I think I drowned someone chasing me too. ) Anyways, that's the extent of my dream. The end was that if we wanted the world to be restored as it once was, where magical creatures didn't have to hide and weren't thought just a myth or legend there were four pieces of a 'stone' of sorts that had to be united. One for each element - earth, water, fire and air. It would restore everyone who had a magical 'gene' in them to what they really w ere.
I dunno if that's an idea to RP, -shrug- I thought it might be fun. lol. Who knows though. This could all sound completely stupid to you. I would have started writing it, but I have no clue where to start it.
Oh, and if any of you steal my idea I'll whack you over the head with Sam's frying pan. B)
Athéniel Egleriannen - July 19, 2005 11:13 AM (GMT)
*runs off to avoid getting thwacked* Tehe. Don't worry, we wouldn't do a thing like that :) Somehow, I think your dream’s really good! You dreamt all that in one night? …Especially since I heard that dreams usually don’t last for more than fifteen minutes, I think it was. My dreams never make any proper sense. They dart all over the place and even though they seem quite normal at the time, when I wake up and remember them, they seem odd. And not just odd, I mean really odd! It would make a really great roleplay idea too. You should start a new topic on this ^_^ especially since it doesn’t accord with this topic, but I really like the idea, Erelith.
Arwen- Hope you keep developing this and come up with more stuff soon! Raelir, fish? Now there’s a strange thought… I quite liked the idea of ‘Raeli’ being the singular and ‘Raelir’ being the plural (it does go along with Elvish pretty well). If they were both the singular, what would the plural be? Hm, Raelie? There’s an idea ;) (It isRaeli and not Reali, isn’t it?)
Arwen_Undomiel - August 19, 2005 06:55 PM (GMT)
Hehe, yeah I meant to say in my last post that Reali and Realir could both be plural. I just realized my mistake. But yes, I like the idea of Reali being singular and Realir being plural. It sounds more Elvish. I'm afraid I've lost the notebook I kept the story in. I'll try to find it and add things to it. I haven't really had a lot of time since this week was tech week for a play and I've got performances through Sunday.
:eowyn: By the way, what exactly is this smilie doing?
Athéniel Egleriannen - August 22, 2005 11:34 AM (GMT)
Well if you'd like a couple of ideas, I came up with one just then. The orc-like dark creatures could be bred out of the substance of sin, even though it's not really something material :) They'd be pure evil.
You're performing in a play? Which? Our school's just finished performing productions of Oliver (They were great!!) ^_^ The reason it was so great for me is that I was revisiting it when I haven't seen it for yonks. I've been singing the songs all week long *hides and pretends to be sane*.
:eowyn: That's Eowyn when she was standing in front of the doors of the Golden Hall in Edoras (remember the scene in the movie?) with her dress is blowing in the wind :)
Arwen_Undomiel - August 23, 2005 04:31 PM (GMT)
Oh, I see. I thought she was doing some strange dance. :P Silly me! Anyways, I like your idea about the orc-like people. I forget what I called them. ^^ Very creative. I think I'll add that whenever I find it. I may have accidentally thrown it away. Oops.
The play our town's opera house performed was Oliver. Originally, I didn't audition for it, but after taking part in a two-week theatre workshop, the director invited me to join the cast. It was so much fun! You see, I was reluctant to try out because when you're in a play, you don't get to see the finished product! But I know it was good and our director and the audience and everyone else in the play knew that it was the best production the opera house had put on. :yesnod:
Athéniel Egleriannen - August 24, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
It does sound like you guys did a pretty good job on it ;) Which character did you play? I actually thought the people in the production here did an awesome job too. You never would have thought of the number of talented people there are. It was way too time consuming though, so I couldn't possibly have auditioned even if I wanted to. From going to not remembering what it was about, to knowing all the words in one night (I watched the movie, the one with Elijah, several years ago. Evidently too long to remember the plot except for snippets...) Then my friend, who's a nutcase, was obsessing over the fact that it wasn't a musical, which everyone else but her (and me) knew, after she had just gone bonkers over the fact that they're thinking of producing a movie of it without any of the music in it...
I will shut up now... 8-)
I hope you find the notebook, or wherever you had it! If not, :(
*stares at smilie* Now you say that, I'm beginning to see it how you saw it. Weird.
