Title: War of the Worlds

I went to see War of the Worlds today, and it was a pretty good movie, I thought. It has Miranda Otto (and Tom Cruise) in it ;) She plays the mum of the little kid, Rachael, and Tom Cruise plays the Dad. It's sort of an action thriller, and freaky and suspenseful in the good bits.
***SPOILER*** All about intelligent extraterrestial beings forging a plan over millions of years to exterminate all humans from earth. The lights those 'things' produce remind me of this glass elevator I saw on TV once, which people enter, and it flashes a really bright light, and the people inside just... die.
Not so much of a spoiler, was it?
A lotta death, but one hell of a movie ^_^ Worth seeing. It was freaky because halfway through, I had to leave and come back, and as I was walking through the hallway where all the entrances to the various theatres are, I could hear a lot of the cinemas playing that same movie, at the same time really loud, so there were all these noises which sounded like they were coming from the ceiling of the hallway or outside. Considering what had been happening in the movie... hm, so I ran back to the cinema as fast as I could. I'm bad when imagination takes over, so glad it wasn't a horror movie. Has anyone else seen it?

Not seen it, but hoping to next week.

My brother saw it last sunday, and he said it was very good, wouldn't tell me much of the plot because i had my fingers in my ears :D !! but he said the little girl (played by Dakota Fanning - is that right??) screamed too much, he said whenever she was on screen she screamed, which irritated him.. he doesn't like constant screaming!!hehe...ahh

can't wait to see it, hope its not a let down because when i first saw the trailer i was instantly gripped and i knew it was one of those movies which i would want to watch no matter what!!! hehe.... thats how i felt with TLOTR!! obviously no let down there - because i love it to pieces as with the book!! :D :D  hehe

Nope, it's definitely not a bad movie B) The girl did scream a lot, but in a real life situation (if it were) you wouldn't blame her. Plus, she was only ten. It would've been a terrifying ordeal. I was terrified sitting there because it was so suspenseful! My friend thinks Dakota Fanning's really cute and that she's pretty talented for someone who's only a child, which I agree :)
It's miraculous none of the main characters died. The whole time, I was muttering 'Someone's going to die, someone's going to die'. I think it annoyed the person sitting next to me :D You'll enjoy it :)
