In this tutorial i will teach you how to make an Effective "Toxic" style Signature for use on forums.

Rating : user posted image : Medium

First of all, open up a reasonable sized canvas, suitable for a signature, i used 350 x 100 for mine set to RGB and a resolution of 72.

To start off, press D to reset the colours, then select the brush tool and set diameter to somewhere around 9 and color to black. scribble some random lines on your canvas.

Now go to Filter>Sketch>Chrome and set the options to:

Detail : 0
Smoothness : 10

You should now have something that looks like this:

Now create a new layer and set it as background by dragging it below the rest. Fill this layer with green :

Hex Code : #38b549
RGB : R:56 G:181 B:73

Now adjust the chromed layers opacity to 50% and mess around with hue and saturation until you get something like this :

Now, create a new layer and fill it with Grey. Any shade will do as long as its medium, dark. Cut out a nice design from this that u wish to have as your border for the main picture. Now add some text to this layer in the form of a type mask. Once your text is in the place you want it and it is the right size, select the fill tool and fill the highlighted areas (i.e, the letters).

The font i used for my Example can be found here Plastic Tomato

Now, make the existing layer 73% transparent.

This is where we add effects to this layer.
Double click the Layer in the layers window and select "Inner Glow" and use this settings:

Blend Mode : Screen
Opacity : 75
Noise : 4
Color : Hex : #0aff00 RGB : R:10 G:255 B:0
Technique : Precise
Source : Edge
Choke : 36
Size : 8
Range : 50
Jitter : 0

Now Select "Bevel and Emboss" and use these settings :

Style : Inner Bevel
Technique : Smooth
Depth : 131%
Direction : Up
Size : 7
Soften : 8
Angle : 120degrees
Use Global Light : Yes
Altitude : 30degrees
Highlight Mode : Screen : White (#ffffff)
Opacity : 75%
Shadow Mode : Multiply : Black (#000000)
Opacity : 75%

Now Select "Satin" and use these settings :

Blend Mode : Multiply
Color : Green : Hex:#00a004 RGB:R:0 G:160 B:4
Opacity : 50%
Angle : 19degrees
Distance : 11
Size : 57
Invert : Yes

Now Select "Stroke" and use these settings :

Size : 1
Position : Outside
Blendmode : Normal
Opacity : 100%
Fill type : Color
Color : Hex:#084006 RGB:R:8 G:64 B:6

Now, apply this layer ontop of your background and you should have something like this :

Now, all thats left is to apply a small fine border to finish off a good signature. set a pencil to black, with a brush of 1 pix and press and hold shift and draw yourself a nice black line around the edge. i drew mine 1 px in but it doesnt matter.

Note : The best way to get a personal feel from a signature is to run through this tutorial a second time and use some of your own settings. Experiment.
