For q2, I'll post a quick working:
x + y =18
x x y = 72
y= 2x
therefore 3x=18 (substitue 3rd equation into first) :
x=6
so y = 12 (substiute 6 into any of the x values and solve.)

And the same for Q3:
K = 12
3j = K
2j = D
12/3 = k so k = 4
thefore 2 x 4 = D
so D=8

sum is twice the product of 10 and 2 (10*2*2) = 40.
1+1+9+9 = 20
You worded that badly. You're saying that the forty doubled is twenty.... at least thats the way I understand it as well as most of the world..... it should say equal to the product of 10 and 2.
