Title: New Forums
Description: Guide to the Forums. Read it!

FunkMaestro - February 11, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the new forums. It has been hard for me starting all over, after the hard work i put into the LFU Forums, but im alright. :D

Here we can start all post counts etc. over, and start as a new fully functioning clan after the tough decission Angelus made.
You will have to register a new account here, and i will make the FoS's "FoS Member" so they can access the upcoming private areas.

You can control your personal settings by clicking "My Controls" in the top menu.
Another great feature is "My Assistant". With it you can see your last 10 posts, you can see the moderating team and contact them, the most active topics and latest posts of the day listed in order of popularity, the top 10 most posting people of the day, the most posting people ever and its simply great!
There is also a member index, with an intelligent search function.
Plus you can searh any topic with "Search".
One last sniffy lil' feature is the birthday event marker. Configure your actual birthday in your profile, and when your birthday arrives, it will be announced at the bottom of the forums (where the statistics are).

On other thing that is important as the forums get older. If you find that a topic you made over 30 days ago isnt in the category, you just set the menu at the bottom of the specific forum to "the last 60 days" or "the beginning" and all topics from the last 60 days or the beginning will show.

PLEASE read the "-=FoS=- Terms of Use" at the top of the forums before using these forums!

There is much, much more, but we'll get back to that!
I hope you enjoy your stay here, and play nice. B)

Angelus - February 11, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah, thank you Funk for doing this for our clan :)!

Another great feature is "My Assistant". With it you can see your last 10 posts,

I'm not sure whether that's a real good feature or not. If I could decide (while I'm aware I can't) I would turn it off, it might cause spam. By the way, how many posts do you need for custom titles? (or how these things are called nowadays :P )

is this post spam? I hope not

- Angelus, nice avatar -

FunkMaestro - February 11, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
^ Why would it cause spamming? It just allows you to see the recent post of today, and what you recently said. I dont know why it would encourage people to post more, i think its a great tool.

And no your post wasn't spam at all, as it served a purpose, and wasn't worth starting a new topic for, so you just posted it here, which is right! :D

Angelus - February 11, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
yeah my assistent is vert handy! and i don't think it will cost spamming!

broyom - February 11, 2004 08:21 PM (GMT)
ah I guess I quoted wrong :D I think the 'top-posters' section causes spamming. You have people who love getting posts.. more and more (I'm on a forum where guys with 14 K posts hang around.. :| )

OFFTOPIC
and I am ALWAYS scared of spamming since I am in a forum I have to pay for.. I have to know exactly when I spam because otherwise I'm forever out of that forum :)
( and it's the linkin park underground forum (fanclub) so it's important to me )
OFFTOPIC

^ Well if you do stuff for the posts, that just proves you are a bad person. Plus if people spam, i will correct them. If they keep doing it, i will suspend them for a number of days. If they when they come back STILL do it, i will have to ban them from the forums. And if they then registers a new account and try to come back with that and spam, i will IP ban them. And if they start bugging me over msn and email i will sue them.

So remember:
DONT SPAM!

broyom - February 11, 2004 08:27 PM (GMT)
IP ban is something you should do only with VERY bad cases. we don't want to lose members do we? by the way, if you 'correct' a spammer, then they still have their post don't they? - yes I am a n00b -

Angelus - February 11, 2004 08:27 PM (GMT)
hehe first you should give them warnings before you suspend them Funk ;) 3 warnings and then you suspend them

broyom - February 11, 2004 08:29 PM (GMT)
is there such a guideline for deleting users too?
like deleting after 3 suspensions I mean?

sorry for posting that short after my previous, but I had to react to angelus

FunkMaestro - February 11, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
EEEAASSY THERE!!! I was only saying what i would do! I doubt many people will keep spamming when people tell them not to!!

Relax! Its not like i count on EVER doing it. IP ban that is.
And yes broyom, they still have their post, but i cant make their post count go down, but that doesn't matter. If a guys post count says 12, i want people to be able to find 12 posts by him on the board, no matter what they contain. We just want the spammer corrected and make him never do it again.

broyom - February 11, 2004 08:34 PM (GMT)
and do you count slowchat as spamming? and when do you actually speak of slowchat?

- for example, is this slowchat? -

Angelus - February 11, 2004 08:38 PM (GMT)
I think people won't spam here in this clan, cause we got rid of that pest Revan :P he was the one who was spamming all the time.. but we are all cool guys so we don't spam :D well maybe broyom will cuz he doesnt know what is spamming :P

broyom - February 12, 2004 06:54 AM (GMT)
thanks for calling me a n00b again.. :P

but when is posting called slowchatting? or is the 30 sec. flood control already taking care of slow-chat too?

Angelus - February 12, 2004 08:57 AM (GMT)
When you type 100 posts after each other i think

Terminator - February 12, 2004 11:18 AM (GMT)
Just make a spamming section....

and who spams a lot gets lesser posts... :D

B)

Terminator - February 12, 2004 11:19 AM (GMT)
hmm, had to look better... that section is already there...

loooooooool\\

yes, you just created it lol :D :P - and a double post -

FunkMaestro - February 12, 2004 03:21 PM (GMT)
^ wow you guys just must be dying to get a five days suspension!! :D

Angelus - February 12, 2004 03:40 PM (GMT)
i dont see the problem from double posts.. editting your post is too complicated doing it over and over, but if ypu post 3 or more post after each other that's spamming

broyom - February 12, 2004 03:52 PM (GMT)
Well editing your post might be is more iritating but double posting looks like you are a post addict.. that's not good to

and editing is a click away, just like replying so..

Yeah of course! But its just if you forgot something in your post, and THEN post again or such. Most times other persons WOULD have posted before you need to post again. So it shouldnt happen too often.

oh so if you forgot something you need to edit.. well i always do that so and i think other FoS members will do it too

FunkMaestro - February 12, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
Its really no big deal, broyom just blew it out of proportion.

broyom - February 13, 2004 02:41 PM (GMT)
did I or did you? anyway let's knock it off :P It's not even an interesting discussion so, let's stop about it. I guess double-posters will get warned if it happens to often so :)
