Title: Season III Awards
Description: Recognizing the best of the best!

oldSkool - January 31, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
With the third full season of the 40 Nickel Madden Football league coming to a conclusion...I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to the best of the best. Club after club, league after league come and go in the internet/on-line gaming world and each offers its unique attributes -- I have had the pleasuable opportunity to watch 40 Nickle grow into a living breathing world of its own. A place you can come to satisfy that yearning for good competition, but to also enjoy the fellowship of other like minded individuals. Doczulu has toiled to create an environment where all of this can take place, aided by his partner in crime Facemask -- 40 Nickle has become a world within a world...truly a place to hand your hat and play some ball! Thanks Doc for all that you do!

The Staff and I would like to recognize some of the outstanding achievement from Season III...the following were nominated and voted on by the Staff.

Skinplaya! -- Skin took the lowly Texans to a near perfect 11-1 regulars season record and taking the Texans to the 2nd round of the playoffs only to lose the bucks (but who didn't?).

And now on to our performance awards....

Offensive Player of the Year -- Randy Moss (Raiders) receiving - 40/1132 13td, produced a TD every 3 or so catches, 28.3 per catch average and contributed 34.4% of the teams total offense. Coach Facemask maximized the big gun on offense, not only as a deep threat but also as a check down receiver...not to mention as a VERY effective decoy ;)

Defensive Player of the Year -- Mike McKensie (Saints) 8 int, 5 td, 20 tackles & 1 forced fumble...I'm not sure if lock down corner can describe this guy, most of Str8StlMo's opponents were overheard mumbling something like...beast or something like that lol

ST Player of the Year -- Phillip Buchanon (Texans) KR - 32/902 2 td, 102 long (had a 99 yard ret as well) avg 28.2 per return. PR - 13/154 1 td, 74 long. Avg 11.8 per return. Buchanon helped coach Skinplaya a true triple thread on the virtual gridiron...no wonder he was almost undefeated!

And now on to the Grande Finale...Doc has this really cool way of reminding you of what you did in the past so you can better plan your future -- the guy acts like he teaches history or something ;) -- anyway, I was looking at the write up I did for Coach of the Year for season II...and quite honestly, I couldn't think of anything I could add...take a look:

"and finally...it is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you, a coach that I have had many opportunities to battle on the virtual gridiron. An honorable opponent who quickly learns your tendancies and efficiently exploits them...in other words, he steps on your throat while looking down at you with a great big smile ----

the 40 Nickle Season II COACH OF THE YEAR ... Sweet Taz!

10-0, Best Defense, and an offense that just got it done. And what a
sportsman to boot...NEVER came close to running the score up, just
did enough to win!"

so without further adoo...the 40 Nickle Season III Coach of the Year...
