Title: Lonely Stroll (From Tower Grounds)
Description: ota
Edeleas al'Kuar - April 25, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
The grounds. Edeleas did not know why, but the place had had an unnatural drag on him ever since he came back. His tattered memories told him few, and in those few, he could vaguely remember spending lots of his time here, reading, and...talking to..people he could not even remember. He wondered if the Aes Sedai Marian had been one of those people too. But no matter. The breeze in this part of the Towers were cool, and he needed it.
Master of Soldiers job was simply stressful. Apart from reshuffling the room assignments, he had made himself clear about things he liked and did not like from his boys. My boys Edeleas thought. How odd. He found a bench and sat down, leaning heavily on the backrest and closing his eyes for a moment. The sky was vividly gray, viewed from under his rather thick glasses.
My new position is a boon, thanks be to the Shadow, but...the Great Lord knows I would rather work unnoticed, a lowly Asha'man, than someone with a high rank. Edeleas mused as he ran a hand through his hair. The Black Tower has its eyes upon me, hopefully for now, as I was the youngest Master of Soldiers to ever come into office. That was his problem. Edeleas specialized in working in the shadows, but his new position put him in odds. He sighed and went to enjoy the breeze some more.
Miakoda - April 25, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
Miakoda walked out into the gardens she had many notes that she wanted to rewrite and go over from her classes and the libary was so busy today, most of the time that would never really stopped her. But she had found her self reading books that she had allready read, and not doing her work. Her arms were full of pappers, quills and a ink bottle. She had a little trouble trying to keep everything from blowing a way. The breeze felt good agaist her pale face and her red hair was blowing behind her. That was a great feeling. The idea that she didn't have to worry about her in her face well she was walking with her hands full.
Miakoda had walked pretty far out from the towers, the more she walked the quiter it became. A smile came to her lips and she moved a little slower. The sun was nice but the breeze was the best. A big gust of wind came and had blown some of her papers out her hand. As she chased them around the yard, still trying to keep her other papers and her quill and ink bottle from dropping. She had spotted her papers flying about as if they had life to them. Giving a small little giggle to the thought she ran after them. Picking up the ones that she had cought up to, her hair got in her face and she bumped into something. She tried putting everytyhing into one hand and flipping her culry red hair out of her face with the free hand. Once her hair was out of her way she dropped down in a small bow and mummbled sorry. Out of the conner of her eye she could see her papers making a get away.
Edeleas al'Kuar - April 26, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Edeleas grunted as someone the size of a small boulder literally smashed into him. Before he could blink a couple of papers smacked into his face before being gusted away by the wind. Next he got hit by strands of curly hair, and then amidst all of the chaos he saw a flash of Novice white. His temper crackled, but he reined it in at once. Blinking and sputtering (also pushing his lopsided glasses), he turned to see a Cairhienin girl curtsey to him and say sorry. He turned and saw the girl's other papers being taken away by the wind. Touching saidin, he wove a flow of Air and gathered all of the girl's papers to himself, and then he arranged them all neatly before handing them back to her.
He stared at the girl. Again, she looked dimly familiar. He did not bother digging through his memories this time, for he knew he might as well hoed a rock of the answers he was going to get. However, she was not yet Aes Sedai, so he had little watching out to do. He decided to try being...accomodating...toward the girl. She was really familiar, he just couldn't know when, how and why she was so.
"Take care of your papers, girl." He said as he sat down again. "I suggest getting a folder or an envelope for them...you wouldn't want to lose your notes. They are important for your raising, so I have heard. What is your name?" he asked. Maybe if she gave him her name, he could start the first step to remember who she was.
Miakoda - April 26, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
Miakoda watched as her papers were drifting a way than back towards her. She knew that there were male channlers out there, and that he had to be one. He took them in his arms and arranged them in his hands. Miakoda could feel her face going a little red. She felt really dumb about all of this. No folder, nothing to hold her notes in, than watching them blow away, not able to use the one power herself to keep them from going anywere. Than for bumbing into someone who looks of high importance to the black tower. Today was just not her day.
"Take care of your papers, girl. I suggest getting a folder or an envelope for them...you wouldn't want to lose your notes. They are important for your raising, so I have heard. What is your name?"
To Miakoda he sounded a bit upset that she was all the way out here, and for bumbing into him. She really didn't think that she had bumbed into him that hard, or maybe he is just having on of those days. Miakoda knew about those days. They came to her quite offten after joining the tower. She just would get tried all the time and didn't have the patice with anything anymore. She once was able to have patice for anything in the world. She gave her head a little shake and taking the papers that he handed her in hands she gave a deep bow and said " My name is Miakoda sir."
Edeleas al'Kuar - April 27, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
" My name is Miakoda sir."
Something strange hit Edeleas. His thoughts spiraled wildly in his head; flashing and speeding in a mad vortex of color in his skull that made the bile rise from his stomach and made him lose balance. The next thing he knew he was sitting on the bench again, clutching his head. The Novice was saying something, but he couldn't really hear. I...know her! He thought, dumbfounded. The Shadow be praised, but I remember her! He looked up at Miakoda again, and this time, he knew her, all right. He'd lent her a book way back...back in...
He straightened up, and tried to smile. Well, make the corners of his lips twitch, really. "Miakoda, my dear, don't you remember me?" He said, reaching up and removing his glasses. "I am Edeleas."
Miakoda - April 28, 2005 11:24 PM (GMT)
Miakoda waited there with her head down and her eyes staring at the ground. She was thinking to herlf if she had done something wrong. Though nothing came to mind. She had done everything right. I didn't speak out of turn or 'bad mouth' him. What the bloody ashes did I do?She kept thinking about this for a while rolling things over and over in her mind. Her mother had always told her that she had a mouth of a mn with her words, and thatone day that it would get her in trouble. Though today she was pretty good her temper was done. When still nothing had really happen she started to get a little upset, she had many things that she wanted to get done before the sun set tonight.
Things once again started to go around in her mind she had many notes to re write for she was unahppy with them, she herself had some hard time reading them ther were just notes here and there all over the paper. Ink plots here and there as well. Just when she was about to look up place her hands on her hips and start to tap her foor He spoke.
"Miakoda, my dear, don't you remember me?" He said, reaching up and removing his glasses. "I am Edeleas."
Miakoda looked up with a little simle on her face. She did in fact remeber him, she had lent her a book when she had first got to the tower. Now she was still a Novice and he he was well alot higher in rank and power than she was.
"Edeleas, Edeleas is that really you! Oh my you have changed so much. I really didn't know it was you." Her voice was happy and she wanted to take a seat beside him and start talking about everything that had gone on. She had not seen him in so long. Miakoda just wanted to reach out and give him a hug though he was still in higher rank than she was, she knew that it might cause an issue. She let her feelings go for that and stood there not eyeing the ground anymore.
"What have you been up to?"
Edeleas al'Kuar - April 29, 2005 09:37 AM (GMT)
Edeleas moved a little from the bench so that Miakoda could sit down. She was a bit hesitant, but he nodded, and she took her seat albeit slowly and carefully. She even grinned nervously and kept looking around as if someone might see them. Edeleas had long gave up trying to smile; instead he just inclined his head politely. As politely as a dreadlord could, anyway.
"Edeleas, Edeleas is that really you! Oh my you have changed so much. I really didn't know it was you. What have you been up to?" she asked, her voice quivering. Edeleas knew that had he not been wearing the Sword and Dragon, she would have pounced on him and gave him what his boys called as a...bearhug. That was odd. Bearhug. Well, he was glad she did not, for Edeleas did not like being touched.
"Hmm. Currently I am up to nothing except for a little chat with you." He said, hoping his voice seemed bright. But he wasn't counting on it too. "I had been gone for years, I am sure you heard about it? I sneaked off the moment I was raised to Asha'man because I wanted to see the world. I went to Seanchan, Tremalking, Rhuidean in the Aiel Waste...I really hadn't had the time to admire the view, as I was busy studying things. I am of the Dieb Cha." He answered the same story he wove for everyone. Nearly everyone, really. He doubted the Aes Sedai who called herself Marian believed this one.
He turned to the Novice now. "What had you been up to, my dear?"
Miakoda - April 30, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
Miakoda watched him move a little and nod his down to for her to take a seat. She was unsure if she should take it at frist. She had spent many hours in the Mess hall when everyone had left talking to him about books that they had read. She had really never found a good friend that was like herself other than some of the brown sisters. When he gave her a quick nod she took the seat smiling. She really did want to just give him a hug, but not one of those Glad to see you hugs but a real one to let him know that he had been missed.
"Hmm. Currently I am up to nothing except for a little chat with you." To Mikaoda he seemed a bit disent about something, though she knew once you were raised to what you wanted to be things can change you. She didn't know if his test would be like her test. She had read many books on what she had to do for all of her tests and she was not really looking forward to them at all. She looked up when Edeleas stared to speak again.
I am of the Dieb Cha."
Miakoda's heart started to beat faster when he had spoke of all those places and able to study them there, while he was there. It was something that she wanted to do when she was raied to the shawl. Leave the tower for a while travle the world and study the places that she had read in the books in person. Though at the same time she was sad for him. He was unable to admire the beauty of those places while he was there, though studying is something that everyone should do, you should also take you time to see the beauty in things.
"Edeleas That is wonderful to hear about everything. I'm really happy for you. I know that you have worked hard to get where you are. Though it is a shame that you had to study so hard while you were in all of those plaes and missed the beatuy of them all as well. Though I am sure you are thinking that it is just a girl thing and perhaps it is." Miakoda's voice was all cheerful and her eyes sparked in the sun and she smiled towards him.
"What had you been up to, my dear?" He asked her.
She really was not all that surpised that he did ask her. Though she didn't have any grad story to tell him, the only things that she had been up to is locking herself in her room with books and notes. She was not embarssed to say this, but he might look down on her for not trying as hard as the other novices to get rasied.
"Same old same old really. Books, Books and more books. And than there are my classes of course. AS you can tell I'm just busting with great tales." She gave out a small giggle, she covered her face and tried to stop laughing. "I'm done with a little less than half of the books in the tower libary. Though everytime I try and pick upa new one I see and old one that I had read and wanted to re read it. If I didn't do that I might be getting somewhere a little faster" She shrugged her shoulders "Oh well I have all the time in the world really to read them."

Though I am sure you are thinking that it is just a girl thing and perhaps it is." The girl replied.
Edeleas gave his glasses a push and did not say anything. I haven't been to anywhere, my dear. I've been off killing multitudes, that's what I had been doing. He thought softly to himself. But he listened to her, nodding politely, still unable to smile. He wished the Great Lord left him that trick, but still... Blood and bloody flaming ashes, what are YOU thinking? There is no place for gentleness! He reminded himself harshly.
"Same old same old really. Books, Books and more books. And than there are my classes of course. AS you can tell I'm just busting with great tales. Edeleas nodded. "You really don't need to hurry through raisings, my dear. I know you will get there. But first and foremost we should all do what we want; in both our cases, enjoy our books. Lucky for you you still have all the time, as for me...being Master of Soldiers has taken a lot, I am afraid. Instead of reading quietly or two I usually spend my time shouting and scolding little bratty midgens for boys."

Instead of reading quietly or two I usually spend my time shouting and scolding little bratty midgens for boys." Miakoda listed to him with a smile still on her face. She was a bit shoocked at frist when he has said that he was the master of Soliders it was something that she had never really seen Edleleas doing, though she can not clame to know him through and through.
Something stuck out in her mind when he had said that she should take her time in her raising, and it was something that she was doing. The only Novice that she really knew that was doing it. Yes it would be nice for her to be rasied and teach a couple of classes and be able to go to some advaince classes but, she didn't want to push herself. She was glad that someone else had thought about the same thing.
"To be honest with you Edeleas, I think I am the only Novice in the tower that is taking her time to be rasied." Her voice lowered when that was being said as if she was affraid to admit it. Maikoda could feel her cheeks getting a little warm, and it was not from the rays of the sun.
"I kinda enjoy my time as a Noive, true I don't get much time for my self but the time that I do get is all I really need for now. I would have to say the only thing I dissagraige with is the chorses, but that again who really likes them?" she gave a shy smile and went on.
"Well I can speak that most of your 'boys' are pretty scolding little bratty midgens, but I am sure that most of the Aes Sedai think that of there Nocive."
Edeleas al'Kuar - April 30, 2005 10:58 PM (GMT)
ooc - sorry this is short!
Edeleas gave an indulgent smile as Miakoda talked. He leaned back in his chair, nodding politely as she went on. His glasses slipped a few more inches from his nose, and he irritably gave them a push back up. After Miakoda stopped talking, a sort of comfortable silence descended between them. Somewhere a bird chirped, and a calm breeze blew.
"Inform me at once when you get raised," Edeleas said suddenly. "Send a note to any Soldier or Dedicated , they will find me. I would like to treat you then."
Miakoda - May 2, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
Miakoda stopped talking and a sudden slince overcame the both of them. It was something a little odd about it for what she could remebre that has never really happen between the two of them, they had also spent many hours just talking about a book the both of them read and what it ment and didn't mean, until the both of them were happy with what the other had said. The wind picked up again and she held on to her notes the papers making some noise along with the birds. Maikoda put her head back letting the sun shine on her face, the warmth from the sun felt nice along here cool skin. She took a deep breath in and lifted her head up. Just when she was about to say her goodbye and let him know that she really did have loads of work to do. "Inform me at once when you get raised," Edeleas said suddenly. "Send a note to any Soldier or Dedicated , they will find me. I would like to treat you then."
Miakoda moved her head towards them and gave him a quick nod. She really didn't know what to say or what to do. And what did he mean treat her to something. her mind started thinking of different things and she had try and keep her mind on her work.
"Of course, I will tell you as soon as they let me be, I promise." her voice was normal though she still was wondering what he ment. She was not going to try and get her rasing done faster that was for sure, she was enjoying her time, slow and steady.
"I'm sorry to cut this short Edeleas, but I really do have lots of work to do. Class notes to re wright and notes just for myself to re-write. I would like to see you again if you don't mind. I really enjoy our talks. It is something to look foward to." She sat there waiting and wondering what he would really think of that. She wasn't trying to get close to him or anything like that and she had hoped that he knew that. Trying hard to let her face when by going bright pink Miakoda put her head down and waited for what he would say.
Edeleas al'Kuar - May 5, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
"I'm sorry to cut this short Edeleas, but I really do have lots of work to do. Class notes to re wright and notes just for myself to re-write. I would like to see you again if you don't mind. I really enjoy our talks. It is something to look foward to." Miakoda said.
Edeleas inclined his head in the Sharan way of acceptance, and eased himself on the bench. "Go on, dear. I wouldn't want your mentors to get shirty with you just because of me. I'll see you again then, sometime."
Miakoda - May 6, 2005 03:44 AM (GMT)
Miakoda smiled at him, and jumped off the bench with her notes in hands. She was in a good mood that day but a better one when she left after a nice chit chat. He never really did say if it was all right for her to come by or for them to talk again. But she was sure cause he had other imporant things to do, and she understood that. She tured around and gave a friendly wave good bye, brushed her away from her face and turned around again to someplace less windy, behind a tree or something to finsh up her notes.
