Title: Naren, Nahimana, Aranna and Naina's room
Description: (WT Dormitories)
Naina - July 9, 2005 10:32 PM (GMT)
Naina was happy that she had found her new room so quickly. Carefully she opened the door, stepped in and looked around. The smile vanished from her face. The room was small. Very small. And it was white. Sighing Naina sat down on one of the three beds placing the bag with her belongings beside her. She thought she would hate the colour white soon enough. All the dresses are white. Why did they have to make the rooms white too? Trying not to think about that too much Naina took out a comb and started brushing her long, dark brown hair. She had not imagined the Tower to be like that. Especially the way the novices were treated was unacceptable. Naina sighed again and suddenly, for the first time, felt homesick. Biting her lower lip she started blaming her self for having gone away from home and leaving her parents and her sister all alone. What if something terrible happens and you are not there to help them? Naina decided that she had to write a letter to her mother again to ask if everything is still alright.
Still brushing her hair Naina looked at the other two beds. Her roommates haven’t arrived yet. Normally that wouldn’t bother the girl too much, but at the moment she felt really lonely and she actually looked forward to meeting some other novices. Naina wondered if they all felt the way she did about the Tower. In the meantime Naina decided to do something. So she took out a book, lied down on her bed and started to read, enjoying the silence, that she knew wouldn’t last for long.
Nahimana - July 10, 2005 06:54 AM (GMT)
Nahimana walked down the halls of the tower looking into Novice rooms trying to find her own. She knew almost nothing about the two other girls that were sharing her rooms only that there were two girls. She wondered if she would like them or if they would all hate one another. She opened a door and was told right away that that was not her room. She sighed and continued down the halls. She was rewarded when she came into the next room and saw only one person in it and she was reading. Nahimana came into the room fully and asked
"Is this my room? Are you either Aranna, or Naina? I am Nahimana and I have been looking for my roommates for awhile now." She shook her head "It is hard to find ones room when you are new and know no one in the tower." Nahimana waited patiantly for the other girl to answer and while she did she survaied the room it was sparse and had only the bare essentals but it was enough for her. She had had about the same amont of stuff in her room at home so this was nothing new to her. She smiled and pulled her attention back to the girl as she spoke.
Naina - July 10, 2005 10:52 AM (GMT)
Naina hadn´t even finished reading the first page of her book, as she heard the door open. She put the book away and stood up. The girl who came in seemed to be a bit younger than Naina, yet she was taller.
"Is this my room? Are you either Aranna, or Naina? I am Nahimana and I have been looking for my roommates for awhile now. “the girl said, then she shook her head and added, "It is hard to find ones room when you are new and know no one in the tower." She eyed the room and smiled at her roommate. Surprisingly the other girl didn’t seem to be disappointed at all about the way their room looked like. Naina examined the other novice. She had black hair and grey eyes, and she seemed too be quite nice. Naina hoped that they would get along well. Having a friend in the Tower would be good.
Naina smiled back and said, “Yes, it’s the right room. I am Naina, I guess we are roommates now.” Yes, being knew to the Tower –was- hard, she was somehow glad that Nahimanna found it hard too, probably all novices did though.
Naina sat down on her bed again "So, where are you from?", she asked. Then she remmembered that the other girl might be tired and added "You must be tired from the long trip, so if you want you can rest first.”
Nahimana - July 14, 2005 05:18 AM (GMT)
"So, where are you from?"Nahimana smiled and sighed in relief, she was so glad to be in her room now. "I'm so glad this is my room. I have been looking for it for some time now. I tried several other rooms but the girls there were not very helpful." She sat down on one of the beds and then answered Naina's question. "I am from Arad Doman. Where are you from?" After answering her question Naina asked another question
"You must be tired from the long trip, so if you want you can rest first.” Nahimana thought for a moment and then said "I am a bit tired but I do want to know about the tower and everything in it. Are the classes hard? Have you been here long?" She was curious about everything. She touched her shoulder where she had been stabbed thinking maybe she should be a bit weary of everyone in the tower. She didn't want to be trusting of anyone until she was a full sister and could defend herself with the power as well as her fists. Naina began talking and Nahimana hung on her words.
Naina - July 18, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
So Nahimana came from Arad Doman. Well Naina didn´t know much about this country and the people there, but she thought that having a roommate from a different country would be interesting. Naina explained to Nahimana that she had mostly lived in Caemlyn and asked her whether she would like to rest. The other girl answered “I am a bit tired but I do want to know about the tower and everything in it. Are the classes hard? Have you been here long?"
Naina didn´t think that she could tell the girl everything about the tower, as she was quite new here as well, but she understood and shared her interest. The Tower was something completely new and different to most of the girls that came to be trained here.
“Well I arrived here not long before you”, she started, “but there is one thing I have already learned here. Being novice in the White Tower isn’t easy, you must know that.” as she continued the other girl listened intently, but Naina noticed a somewhat weary expression in her roommate’s eyes as the girl touched her left shoulder. She was curious to get to know more about the girl and her life before she came here, but for now she continued talking about the Tower. “The classes are interesting though, if you have a good mentor that is. I have had a few classes by now and I like it very much.” She finished and waited a bit until she spoke again “Why have you decided to come to the Tower?”, she looked at Nahimanna waiting for the answer.
Nahimana - July 19, 2005 05:49 AM (GMT)
Nahimana listened intently to everything Naina said and thought to herself I knew my time here would be hard. she of course wasn't to surprised with this information from her roommate but she had lived through worse so she was also not to worried about it. The next words out of Naina's mouth had her thinking.
“Why have you decided to come to the Tower?” She answered hesitantly
"Well my father owned an inn and it had a riot in it one night and it was destroyed." She shrugged as though it ment nothing and to her it didn't really. She only missed her brothers. "I met an Aes Sedai and she told me that I had the talent and so here I am." She looked at Naina and asked "Now why have you come to the tower? What Ajah do you think you would join?" She smiled and said "For me there can be no other choice I am Green." The Aes Sedai that had found her had been Green and they had enjoyed the time they spent together, mainly because they tried to out flirt each other. The Aes Sedai usually won because she had more experiance but Nahimana was glad she had held her own on a few occasions. She told her new roommate about it and laughed "It was fun, I miss doing it, I can not wait to become a full sister." She reallized that she had been talking to much and said "I am sorry please go ahead and talk."
Naina - July 25, 2005 02:42 PM (GMT)
Nahimana answered "Well my father owned an inn and it had a riot in it one night and it was destroyed." and shrugged. Naina wondered how it could be, that such a horrible thing just didn't seem to matter to her. Maybe she is just hiding her sadness Naina thought and continued to listen to the other girl's words.
"I met an Aes Sedai and she told me that I had the talent and so here I am." Nahimana said and then asked "Now why have you come to the tower? What Ajah do you think you would join?", "For me there can be no other choice I am Green." she added with a smile and told her about her time spent with a Green Sister. Naina stared at the girl. She knew that the Greens were a bit...different. But she just couldn't imagine an Aes Sedai flirting and trying to out flirt someone. She smiled, it seemed quite amusing and she has always liked the Greens, also because they were the Battle Ajah.
Then Naina spoke: "I came here mainly just because I wanted to become an Aes Sedai. I noticed that I can touch the One Power...and yes now I am here. I am not sure yet which Ajah I want to join yet. I might become a Blue...maybe." It always was hard for Naina to make a decision and she admired Nahimana for being so sure of her own choice.
There seemed to be so much they could still talk about.
"Are you already able to channel?", Naina asked.
Nahimana - July 29, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
"I came here mainly just because I wanted to become an Aes Sedai. I noticed that I can touch the One Power...and yes now I am here. I am not sure yet which Ajah I want to join yet. I might become a Blue...maybe." Nahimana thought about that answer.
"You are interested in the plotics of the world?" she wondered how anyone could keep up with all the intrigues and plots that were floating around in the world. She shook her head no she could never make a good blue, Green for her, always green there was never any other choice. She heard her roommate talking more and brought her attention back to the conversation.
"Are you already able to channel?" Nahimana thought how best to answer this question. She and the Aes Sedai who had brought her had worked hard to get her to be able to light the candle on her own. She wasn't sure if that meant she could channel per say so she said. "I can a little. My mentor is working with me to be able to channel at will." She shrugged it didn't matter to her she just wanted to be Aes Sedai. "How about you can you channel yet?" She was curious to know how far along everyone else was. She wondered if it would be rude to ask any of the other Novices. Naina was answering her question so she turned her full attention to her roommate.
Aranna Verani - July 31, 2005 11:19 AM (GMT)
Aranna knocked on the door in front of her, she hoped she was right this time. She poked her head in and saw and heard two other girls. They were so heavy in conversation that it seemed that they didn't notice her. They weren't using eachothers names so Aranna didn't know if she was in the right room. The two were talking about channeling, and how good they had become already.
"Hello" she said "My name is Aranna. Are you Nahimana and Naina?" They didn't even notice her then. She raised her voice while saying it again and stepping in both's direct line of sight. Finally, she got a reaction.
Naina - July 31, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)
As Naina mentioned that she might choose the Blue Ajah, Nahimanna shook her head in slight disapproval and asked, "You are interested in the politics of the world?" Before Naina could tell her that she is indeed interested in politics the other girl spoke again to answer the question about channeling Naina had asked her.
"I can a little. My mentor is working with me to be able to channel at will. How about you can you channel yet?"
Naina thought the other girl and herself must be pretty much at the same level. She has also only channeled a bit and still had difficulties with embracing the source and holding on to it. Naina wondered whether the other girl enjoyed the lessons as much as she did. She always liked to learn and learning to channel fascinated her so much that it let her forget about all the dangers that a novice should actually be aware of.
“I also can only channel a little”, Naina answered, and not wanting to mention her problems with holding on to the source, simply added “I am now learning to weave the different elements with my mentor, to see which are my stronger ones.”
Now that she answered her roommate’s question, Naina thought she could come back to their discussion about the Ajahs. Naina hated to receive critique or disapproval and (although she would never admit it) had never really learned to deal with it.
“Oh and I am, you must know, interested in politics” she said. At least I am not joining the Greens, who start acting like fools every time a man is around Naina opened her mouth to add something but at that point she saw an unknown girl, she hadn’t even noticed before, standing in the room.
"Hello" the girl "My name is Aranna. Are you Nahimana and Naina?"
Naina smiled at the other novice and said “Hello Aranna.” She examined the girl and noticed that she was about the same age as her, but just as Nahimana, Aranna was taller. “I am Naina”, she added, “I am happy to meet you, welcome”.
