History:

Born with the name Alrain Do'Gracea, Dazar was one of the first Male Damanae to be taken into service of the Empire. The family known as Do'Gracea was of the Minor Blood but in the ever changing, vicious realm of Seanchan politics, they lost favor, and were sold as da'covale. Alrain did not convert to being property well. He frequently got into fights with other servants, and once he even struck the Head Housekeeper. Once while he was fighting, he caught the eye of a man. This man watched Alrain for a period of about a Month, before appearing one day and taking Alrain away from his owners. Dazar still remembers the fear when they took him to the Empress' palace. His aggressiveness and tenacity had attracted the eye of one of the Empress' choosers. He was bought to serve in the Deathwatch Guards.

For several years, from the last years of his childhood until he was twenty-one he spent in training. At twenty-two, he was able to serve his Empress in his first combat. A small rebellion in the southern lands was swiftly and efficiently crushed by the Deathwatch Guards. While he never was noted in his battle skills, or prowess, he was known as being infinitely loyal to the Empress. He was not chosen to be part of the leading edge at Falme. But several years later something worse happened. Firstly, was that he learned he could channel. Secondly was that others learned it, and decided to do something about it.

Rumor had flown through the empire that the man who called himself "Dragon" had purified the male's essence, and in doing so had prevented men from going mad. As da'covale of the Empress, she decided that Alrain should be used as a test. He was one of the first to be used as Damane who channeled Saidin. He was sent over in the second wave in the Return. Alrain hated the Seanchan for chaining him. Not for keeping him chained, for he believed that all channelers should be dealt with such. But that they forced him to channel the tainted source. To him it felt full of chaos, and evil. He hated them for not killing him. Paranoid about his possible madness, Alrain developed a sort of forced Schizophrenia. In his fear he convinced himself that his thoughts were the thoughts of others, and they spoke to him. It was during this time that he repeatedly attempted to escape, and that he was given the name Dazar Ayende.

While he was there he met a certain Damane. Well, actually she was an escaped Damane. She helped him escape as well. This escaped Damane, Alrain could not help but love her for what she did to save him. Although he did not learn her name for an eternity later, he always thought of her with the deepest adoration.

When he was thirty-five, two years after he had escaped, the Last Battle was fought. Dazar hid from that, living in villages and towns, trying to control his madness. It was several years after the Last Battle, when Dazar came to terms with Saidin. He knew he was not mad, nor that he would go mad. It was then that his Schizophrenia was repressed. Several more years he roamed, living of the land before he came to the Black Tower. He hesitated, at the very doorstep of Tear. Then, on an impulse he traveled north. Through the Blight, and beyond through lands even fouler than the Blight itself.

At Shayol Ghul he found himself, and there he was met by a Dreadlord, and a fist of Trollocs. He was escorted into a cavern, and found himself face-to-face with a face that had haunted his dreams for what seemed an eternity. It was the same escaped Damane that had freed him so long ago. He threw himself on the ground, and pledged his loyalty to her, and eventually through her to the Great Lord of the Dark. He was made to be Naeva's most loyal servant, and then sent to infiltrate the Black Tower.

He was raised swiftly, and trusted well inside the Black Tower. There he waits, spying and serving his Master, and Mistress. However, he was eventually exposed. He fled the Black Tower, and joined his mistress' side. And when the Day of Return began he led the Shadow Horde across the plains of Falme.

He did his absolute best to kill Lucius, but his attempts were in vain. He knew he should have died when the M'Hael threw the first bar of balefire, but the world went white, and then it was changed. Where is he? And how can he find his Master now?
