History:
Sirrah was born in Shol Arbela beneath the Mountains of Dhoom. Her father was a blacksmith to the King of Arafel. His name was Jakob Tovarth and her mother, Jaylen was a cook. For the first five years of her life, they were a happy family along with two brothers, Jael and Tarren. In Sirrah's fourth year, Jakob was accused of being a darkfriend by the King himself. After he was arrested and tried, her family was devastated to learn the accusations were true. Jakob was convicted and executed shortly after Sirrah’s fifth nameday. Soon after, her mother Jaylen fled Arafel afraid of retribution against herself; leaving behind three small children.
Jakob’s closest friend before the accusation, Taevis Borlan took in the children knowing they were innocent. Of course not everyone saw it that way, some believed that if the parents were darkfriends so were the children. Ren vowed to protect and watch over them. Although, many children teased Sirrah, she was mostly happy. Her brothers were much bigger and commanded respect from the other children. Jael spent a lot of time a way from his sister because she was different. Tarren was close to Sirrah and spent a lot of time with his sister until she began avoiding him. It was around this time, Sirrah discovered she was sensitive to the weather. She decided to keep this ability secret afraid if others found out they would surely think she was a dark friend. So she spent more and more time alone hiding in the library of the fortress, reading about how to defeat the Shadowspawn and distancing herself from everyone.
Taevis began to worry about her spending so much time alone so he decided to train her in self defense. He began to teach the sword and the quarterstaff, first. Noticing how grateful she was for his time he began teaching her hand to hand combat. Sirrah was a quick study and loved learning new skills. She began to trust Taevis more and more eventually confiding to him her secret ability. She said she feared she was a darkfriend, that she had the same sickness as her parents. Taevis explained that being a darkfriend was a choice not a disease and that many women had this ability. They were usually known as a Wise Woman or Wisdom depending on their culture. Sirrah was excited to learn that in most places these women were highly regarded and respected.
Now in her fifteenth year, Sirrah, became more and more obsessed with learning all she could about the Dark One and his minions and to track and defeat them. She started investigating her mother and how to find her. Unafraid of her new power she became increasingly accurate at predicting the weather especially an oncoming storm and it’s intensity. She helped Taevis and his fellow warriors in their battles against Shadowspawn and the Blight. Sirrah loved Taevis like a father and loved helping him fight evil but she was becoming extremely restless. And it was in her eleventh year she decided to leave Arafel and search for her mother.
Taevis was afraid for her to leave. But he knew in his heart he could not stop her. Sirrah was very strong willed and independent and would run away if he forbade her to leave. So he did the best he could and hired two guards to accompany her on her journey. The first guard he hired was a young, dark haired Arafellin named Ronan Dallis. Very lethal with a sword and dangerous with his bare hands. The next was a Shienaren, middle aged but a seasoned warrior he had fought along side many times. Creid Nalshoun would look after Sirrah like a daughter. He had owed Taevis a debt and promised to see her to her destination. Sirrah left in early spring with what gold her mother had left behind. Her first choice to look for her mother was Camelyn.
Sirrah and her two watchdogs found nothing in the capital of Andor. She spent several months making contacts and doing research for her project. She wrote every suspicion and every name that might lead to a Darkfriend or her mother in her special little notebook that she always kept hidden about her person. She did this in almost every town or city she visited along the way. A few weeks here or a few months there. She kept another notebook as well for her contacts. What city, name and occupation of the people she met or made friends with. By the time of her fourteenth year she had spent time in Andor, Cairhien, Tear, Illian, Altara, and Ghealdean. And never a thought of what she would do with this information or how dangerous it might be, she kept on looking and traveling.
At twenty, Sirrah found herself in Tanchico still trailed by her watchdogs. Most thought the three were a father, son and daughter looking for work. She let everyone think as they would never bothering to correct anyone who came to that assumption. And it was in Tanchico that she learned she could channel almost four years later. Two darkfriends that had recognized her name followed her one evening and tried to kill her. For the first time Sirrah realized that it was the One Power flowing through her. A small rain shower turned in to a huge storm fueled by her and the Power. One of the men threw a knife piercing her left shoulder. It was then in anger, that she called down lightening to incinerate the two men. The last thing she remembered was a tall, thin woman with golden hair and two men looking as though they were lions on the hunt, trailing behind her.
And when she woke she was in a soft feather bed, her shoulder completely healed. The woman was sitting in a chair across from her knitting. Sirrah asked what happened and the woman explained about the men, the storm and how she had channeled. Sirrah had realized that she had been channeling since she was thirteen. The woman then asked her if she had ever thought about the White Tower and becoming Aes Sedai. Of course she had never thought about it, her father was a darkfriend. How could she become a Sister? The Aes Sedai explained that as long as she did not follow the Shadow then there was nothing to fear. She swore to the Sister her life will be spent eradicating Shadowspawn from the world. And so Sirrah found herself bound for the White Tower the very next day. It took almost a year to reach Tar Valon, the Sisters had other business to attend on the way. She learned a few things about the One Power by watching and listening to the Sisters. When they finally reached the city, Sirrah was in shock at the beauty of the city and even more so at the White Tower itself. She knew in her heart that this would be her home. She was born to fight evil and this never seemed more true until this moment she stood gaping at the Tower.
As a novice she worked hard to please her teachers and never shirked at duty of any kind. She spent most of her free time studying in the library. So many books on the Dark One and his followers, she thought she could study forever. Sirrah’s lessons in the power were hard but she learned quickly. A few things were more difficult especially if weaves concentrated on fire or earth, not her strongest. Overall her time in the Tower was pleasant, a few of the novices found out about her father and tried to tease her but the Sisters would not allow it. Sirrah continued her studies with the sword and quarterstaff when time permitted. She somehow charmed the arms master in to helping her when he was not busy. She enjoyed his lessons, they always reminded her of Taevis.
After five years of being a novice, she was raised to Accecpted. Her trial through the rings was particularly hard but she passed. During this time it was much easier to study in the library. She made a few friends but never got really close to anyone. She was sent to the Mistress of Novices quite a few times for her temper. Several times she was called down for creating enormous storms that were very hard to contain. Sometimes her temper was really hard to control. She was Arefellin after all and their tempers were famous. Her only real true friend was the arms master and one other Accepted who Sirrah was sure would choose brown. She herself had never thought what Ajah she would choose. They all seemed tempting to her. Probably Green, Brown, or maybe White would be the ones’ she leaned towards. Then after four years as an Accepted , she was called to test for the shawl.
The test for Accepted was difficult. The test for the shawl was down right impossible or so it seemed. However at three and twenty she had tested and passed for Aes Sedai. And to her surprise and everyone else ‘s she chose the Blue. When she had stepped out of the arches, the Blue had seemed the only choice for her to make. And so she did, never looking back. And through the past ten years she had never regretted her choice. At least ten of those years were spent out of the Tower searching for her mother, Sirrah had never found her. She finally gave up the search for her mother about two years ago. Her time now was for Tower business.
The war against the Dark One had begun. She fought hard protecting the Amyrlin. That was her job making sure the Amyrlin lived. She was a Sister and the Amyrlin would not die on her watch. The last thing she remembered was a bright light. And they were standing in a familiar but strange land. And she waited for what was to happen next.
Ok I am done please some one read and tell me what is wrong. thanks. B)
Seeing as the rules and such from your other site are different than here, i see no reason to not approve it. it was a great story. if you had been a new novice i would have had you alter the part about training whil a novice with weapons, but you werent a novice here, so no reason to change a thing. its lovely.
be sure to update about what she does when she comes to this world :D
approved
Well, the thing about yours is this: Her base strength is higher than our channeling system allows. I understand why, because of the requirements for being Aes Sedai on the site, but still....Since Sirrah wasn't raised in this world, though, the requirements for Aes Sedai would be different there, so she could have a more believeable strength, that would be wonderful. :)
