Title: Lonely Accepted (From Tower Grounds)
Description: OTA

Miakoda - July 27, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
Miakoda sighed quietly as she left the confines of the Tower and headed out into the grounds. It was a pleasant sunny day with a nice cool breeze blowing softly, but it's beauty was lost upon the novice. Truth be told, she had felt depressed and down all day long. So, once she had finally gotten a free hour to spend as she wished, Miakoda had decided to go out into the grounds, hoping that maybe she could find a quiet spot to be alone with her thoughts.

After a few moments Miakoda found the perfect spot, quiet and secluded area, surrounded with bushes on three sides. On the far side of the spot there was a little bench. As she took a seat she had started to think about everything that has happen since her coming to the tower. True it was pure ecstasy when she had first embraced the Source. She had progressed a little quicker than she had thought to the Accepted level. But now it seems that she has just been stuck here.

Her life here seemed hard as well, though she did grow custom to it. Though it was hard for her to make friends here. It wasn’t cause she always had her face in a book or in the library helping the Brown Aes Sedai with anything that they needed. It was cause she was a lot different than the girls. Ok so maybe it was cause she kept her face in a book. But Miakoda found simple pleasure in it. At times she had always wondered what was going on at home. How her old friends were doing, but mostly she wanted to know how her family was doing. She missed them so much.

Tears started to fill her eyes and she tried to blink them a way only making it worse. Time passed, and Miakoda had lost herself in her thoughts of self-pity and depression. After a while, her head jerked up quickly, as she heard the sounds of someone approaching. Nervously, she turned her head to see who had discovered her little hiding place.

ooc -- I hope you don't mind me responding.. I don't think ive ever rped with you before, and honestly, im kind of tired of rping as someone who holds rank. I figured it would be nice to rp rialt with someone who wasnt already aes sedai or asha'man. :)

The stress was driving him insane. Zekieal’s absence was a thorn in his side and all of his plans. Until the man returned, he had to act in his stead and the stress was an obvious weight on his shoulder, not to mention he still had to enact his own duties as Mahdi al’Tain. So he had stolen away some time for himself in the form of relaxation. Wandering away from his office, a man who had been newly raised Asha’man, one of the Aman Val, stopped in his path. “Sir!” He saluted fist to heart and bowed slightly, it was always interesting to find who recognized him out of uniform. He wore plain clothing, riding gear mostly, nothing overtly fancy, but nothing that befitted those of poverty. If he had seen himself in the mirror, he supposed, including the ever present sword at his side, that he looked to hold the rank of a Gaidin...except for his ageless face of course, which gave him away instantly. “Unless this matter is pressing, it will have to wait.” Rialt stated matter-of-factly to the new initiate. “No sir, I was just coming to deliver these.” He held out a hand of papers and Rialt eyed them un-interestingly. “Reports I would assume,” Rialt stated. “Put them in my office, thankyou Triel.” And the man walked past him, ensuring that for a little while longer, Rialt still retained his much needed hiatus from his very demanding position.

Of course I would not have taken the job in the first place had duty not compelled me to accept Zekieal’s offer.. I have done some good I imagine. It wasn’t as if, upon entering the tower some 200 years ago, he had had any aspirations of advancing to anything more than Asha’man. Even then it had seemed a goal impossible to attain, something that he never imagined he would achieve. When he did make it though, the events of his life had changed him utterly, and he became a different man then he had been. Many once thought of him as a laid back man, someone who laughed often and smiled many times. But after countless wars, atrocities, and crimes, after the death of his wife and the death of his child, and her children, after his own decisions had ruined lives but saved others, he was a changed man forever. He had become a man of duty and responsibility, so that those who did not share his fate, could enjoy what he could not. Rialt had long ago accepted the trials that his position would play on his character.

He made his way, ever so solemnly, to a place of quiet, a place he had visited more in the past. It was a part of gardens that he had actually petitioned a bench to be placed. Kind of a nook, and every now and then, as he made his way through he noticed someone making use of its privacy. It was there that he now made his way. Approaching the small area, Rialt was surprised to find someone occupying the space and turned to leave but upon a quick glance to the occupant, he noticed the girl was crying. Or she had just finished crying, which he wasn’t certain. Many would not have pegged Rialt as a man with much emotion or feeling, but he was not inhuman. He held fears and sadness, the same as the next man did, his rank did not dismiss such qualities, even after so many years pushing them aside. But this day, this moment, he was stepping away from his position and its stresses and obligations, he was stepping into a more casual role. He was merely a man, and this woman in front of him, an Accepted by her dress, was upset. The humanity in him demanded to know why, and to cure her of her sadness.

“Excuse my intrusion. I can leave if you wish…though I noticed your tears….” He didn’t want to sound too forward with her, but he did want to help. “Is there anything I can do?” He stood a few feet away from her and allowed his normally emotionless face to show a bit of concern. He was concerned though. “Do you mind?” He asked as, while she was contemplating his question, took her silent response to sit down next to her, but far enough away that she would not feel awkwardness. He pushed his sword out of the way naturally as he sat and turned to face the crying stranger before his eyes.

OOC: sorry Im a little late in reposting! I've been putting in alot of hours at work. And sorry its a little short I just got home. Though I think you are right we haven't RPED before and I have wanted to rp with ya!

````
Someone had stepped through the bushes, revaluing to her a six foot three inch, blond hair blue eye man. He didn’t wear anything that showed that he was from the tower. Other than his face. It was if it was carved from stone, telling her that he was a warder. She merely just smiled at him and tried to wipe the tears a way. It was the last thing that she really wanted. Was to have her found crying. Well all in truth she wasn’t really crying. She was just sitting in the garden a way from the tower in her own little place, eyes filled with water. Who was she trying to hide the truth from? Her self that was who. He stood not far from her.
“Excuse my intrusion. I can leave if you wish…though I noticed your tears….”
There was a small pause in what he said before he went on. It was if he was thinking on what to say or how to say it. He did look a little concern about her, though Miakoda was unsure about that. She was unsure about a lot of things these days. He had ask to take a seat, though as she was thinking on what to say . He had already taken a seat beside her, though far enough so she didn’t feel that awaked about him being there. That was a little to late. Miakoda had already felt a little dumb. Hiding a way in the tower gardens hiding a way her fear and her shame. It was that moment when she realized that she would be stuck as a Accepted forever. It was quite between them for a while until she took it a upon herself to say something.
In her best cheerful voice Miakoda looked at him and smiled “Hello!” Pushing some more hair out of her way she went on. “ Names Miakoda.” She put out her hand and looked at him waiting to see if he would take it or not.
Ooc - I stole a story from robin hood prince of thieves…cuz its hilarious…so sue me. :P
He shouldn’t have stayed, he should have turned and walked away the second he saw her crying. It was quite obvious that he had embarrassed her by seeing her tears. His sense of decency didn’t allow for him to ignore someone who was in such a foul mood, she looked as if the world were coming to an end. Upon asking her how she was she stayed quiet and an awkward silence greeted them both for a few seconds. He hated awkward silences more than anything else. She seemed to sense the oncoming mood and changed her tone, pleasant sounding, had he not seen her crying, or saw her face, he never would have guessed. A future Aes Sedai indeed. He thought to himself and gave a warm smile in return. “Hello.” She said positively and held out her hand to him. “Names Miakoda.”
He liked the fact that she was still open to being sociable even if she had been upset a moment ago. She still was of course, no one absolved feelings that quickly. Rather than point out her momentary weakness he took her hand and firmly shook it. “My name is Rialt.” He thought a moment about what he should mention to her. Often when he spoke with Cayana’s mother, it was about how he believed she would excel in her studies, about the things she would experience upon gaining the shawl. He thought that perhaps what Miakoda needed was to think about something other than Tower life for once, so he sorted through the multitude of events during his time as Asha’man to find a suitable one for her to hear about.
His mind always seemed to falter on his failures and such, but he did not need to tell her of his experience during the fall of Maradon…or his dealings as an in-field N’Dore. No, war stories were not appropriate for the situation. He turned to her as he remembered a story he heard whilst in a tavern, “A while back” He did not mention the exact date of course, “I was in the Andoran armed forces.” It helped the joke if the listener believed it was he in the tale. “This was a long time ago mind you, and I was always on duty, moving from this nation or that for a few years. One day I was wandering through Braem's wood looking for some old ruins to see if I could find a rumored treasure in an ancient city from before the Trolloc Wars.... while crossing a rock filled river I fell and turned in time to see a large band surround me. This puzzled me but my confusion of course, was short lived when I heard one of them say, ‘There Once was a man from Cairhien who tried to cross the river... look at the dope he tripped on a rope, now look at him shiver.”
The look on her face turned from interested to confused in a heartbeat but he kept going. Perhaps she recognized the tale? He continued on in a serious tone, “Now seeing that I was vastly out numbered, I turned to the largest man there who appeared to be the leader and challenged him to a duel with the sword.” He indicated the sword he wore at his own hip. “We fought up and down the river, Whilst I took many of the blows, and quite a few dunkings. I still have a scar from a sharp hunk of rock that grazed my temple, see?” He motioned to the scar that ran down his right temple. He had actually received it when he had been attacked at a Ball not so long ago, but that wasn’t necessary information just yet. He smiled inwardly, knowing that while much of the tale was untrue, that since it was a joke, the Oaths did not prevent him from telling it.
“Well eventually I tripped him and he flowed down the rapids, falling into a deep pool. He commenced to wallow about hollering for help, at which point I went to him knelt down, asking if he would yield.... he wallowed a bit more, screaming save me and I repeated my request for his yield. He finally accepted and I told him to put his feet on the ground. The look on his face was priceless and we both got roaring drunk together later in the day, marveling at the fact that the water was only waist high.” She of course knew the joke now, as he had rephrased to disguise it as long as he could. He chuckled to himself and hoped he had put her in a better mood…or that he hadn’t angered her by leading her on about the joke.
OOC: That is a great movie! :lol:
Miakoda listened to the story that Railt was telling. When he had said ‘There once was man from Cairhien who tried to cross the river. Look at the dope he tripped on a rope and now look at him shiver‘ what something that she had remember her da tell her once. Though she trying to think where she had heard it from only confused her more. It was an amusing story none the less, and it did make her fell a little better. Once he finished the story than chuckled to himself after it was over. It was true she did hear it before. But it was so long ago that it took her a while to know the joke. She giggled along with him.
“For a while you had me going there. I thought to myself I have heard this before. But it didn’t dawn on me until the ‘there once was a man from Cairhen who tried to cross the river’ It was there I knew you were up to something.” She smiled at him. And was thankful for his kindness. Not many strangers would take the time to help someone feel better about something. Though as she looked at him there was something about him. She had the feeling that she knew him form somewhere, but just couldn’t think of it. Thinking nothing of it, she looked at him with a smile on her face.
“Its not every day that someone will try and make a stranger smile. Thank you.” Her voice was cheerful than it had been. Though still inside she just wanted to have a good cry. And sometimes that is all that one needs. But one day soon she will have to ‘grow up’ and act like an Aes Sedai. But until that time she was just going to go about her life on day at a time. And cry when she needed to.
